Hello guys,
I have this nice military chronograph from Seiko. It is equipeed with 7a38 movement, I guess the same as in issued RAF watches - have you ever heard about using this watch in British Army?

What makes you say it's (British) military? The 7a28 movement was not exclusive to the RAF Gen 1.
The army did not procure or issue these, no (which isn't to say that individuals did not buy their own).
I know that 7a28 was not only in military watches, but this one looks so military for me that I thought maybe this watch have something common with military stuff. Thanks for the answer.

Your watch is the civilian version and as most civilian versions actually of higher spec than the military ones.
Strangely enough the civi version was 30% cheaper in the shops and it had a nice bracelet (and a bezel).

The Seiko Sports 100 7A28 was issued in this form to the South African Air Force in 1984, it superceded the Lemania 5012, which itself superceded the Lemania 1872.

hi everyone does the 7a28 truly the same movement as the mod one or some marking are different ? I am selling military watches but never got the gen1 yet.
mostly dealing with gen2 which you can't find a replacing movement.

You will be very fortunate to find a replacement movement for the Gen2 7T27 but I believe it does share some movement parts with the 7T32, but obviously not the circuit.

thanks dave for the info bought a gen 2 and sent it to seiko a year ago they say that they don't have the movement and charge me 150 to rebuild the existing one they didn't even had the second hand so they put something similar.

A very old thread!,but tried to search prices on the non issued gen2 model with not much found.
As I'm reducing my collection what is the going price on one?.All works as it should but does have scratches to the glass,case is good.

Whereas I have been tracking the selling prices on 7A28 Gen 1's for a few years, I haven't extended this to cover the 7T27 Gen 2 - nor do I have any plans to.

They vary between £207 for a non-runner to £380 in NOS condition (and occasionally upwards of £400).
