Really looking forward to watching this. I'm not going to get to see it until next week but really am in a state of anticipation for it.

Let me guess… JB pulls off a mask at the end Scooby-Doo style!
Many bad reviews here, i have lost most hope of it being any good
I'm a Bond fan. 2021 is the year that I'm re-reading all the novels. I'm up to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I like Daniel Craig as bond, not my favourite, but pretty good. Believable, good in action scenes, but somewhat po-faced. Casino Royale was a great film, but I found it over long in the cinema. Although the final act made dramatic sense, it made the film drag for me. I preferred it on rewatch at home. QoS I didn't enjoy at the cinema, but I think is actually OK having rewatched. Skyfall was a curate's egg for me. I found the middle act dragged, and while I admire Javier Bardem as an actor, I thought he made a ridiculous Bond villain. Spectre had some great moment, but most of the time it felt inert and the meta-plot seemed very much an after thought.
Given all of the above, I'm probably going to wait for streaming. I would like a trip to the cinemas, but not sure if I can face three hours of what will probably be a very mixed bag.
I'd love to see a reboot of the franchise and loved the idea of a film that cleaves closer to the novel. Tarantino's plan of a black and white Casio Royale set in teh 50's sounded fantastic. Maybe Christopher Nolan will get a chance to make something similar.
Anyway, back on topic.
Just saw it last night, it was a bond movie.
I would watch for your eyes only another 20 times. Moore was the family Bond, witty, sarcastic and well, sexist, and had the best villain of all time. Kids love Jaws, can't beat that smile.
From russia with love is another good one.
No time to die... well, I did appreciate the ending. Different.
Gosh I do miss the Lotus.
The chase scene in Sardinia is still one of the best ever.
Bang!

Go support a local independent cinema (saw it for £6)
If you like actions movies, you'll like this.
If you like nods to iconic Bond moments you'll like this.
Don't over analyse it, enjoy the ride it's a good film with actual acting in it (for the most part... see don't over analyse)
I thoroughly enjoyed it - watched last night at my local independent. Yes, it’s a bit long and could have been edited down a smidge. Yes, there are plenty of plot holes and the odd moments of plausibility deficit. The relentless hype really gave me The Fear after the bloated oddity that was “Spectre”.
But, on the up-side… A really good cast, much more of an ensemble piece than some Bond movies; I loved the little nods to earlier films in the script and the score; Ana de Armas (a really lovely performance); some shock moments; some iconic action sequences; and absolutely SUMPTUOUS cinematography. I felt it was a fitting end to Daniel Craig’s involvement, and it rounds out “his” series of movies very well.
I felt it was a ticket price and a Sunday evening well spent, all in all. Really lovely to go to a cinema again, too - I realised that the last thing Mrs Cain and I saw at the cinema was Star Wars, at the Secret Cinema Drive-In last summer. Crazy.
Watched it with the mrs on Friday. The first hour was really entertaining but I felt like the rest was a little stale if I’m honest. It was very skyfall-esque but about 40 mins too long IMO
I saw it on Sunday. 7/10 from me and a fitting conclusion to Daniel Craig's tenure as JB I suppose. Few plot holes and cheesy scenes, but to be expected.
I actually thought 'Skyfall' was very good - better than the current one, much better than Spectre and QoS, but Casino Royale probably the best of the bunch.
I'm thinking of going to my local VUE to watch this ... are the audience all wearing masks?
After Casino Royale, which was very good, I thought the other Craig Bond films weren't that good. It's not Daniel, who is great, the story etc were poor after CR.
Personally my favourite Bond films are:
Goldfinger,
From Russia with Love,
The Living Daylights,
The Spy Who Loved Me,
Licence to Kill,
Casino Royale,
OHMSS,
GoldenEye.
Timothy Dalton was highly underated. In fact he was ahead of his time as Craig sort of followed on. Pity Timothy wasn't in GoldenEye.
Massive Bond fan, of over 45 years.
Thought Casino was solid, Quantum empty, and Skyfall and Spectre pretty garbage with poor writing and casting. I especially hate what Sam Mendez (director of the latter two) was trying to do with the character.
But this, OMG, fantastic. They did everything right, with very few exceptions. Better than Casino IMO, and right into my Top 5 Bond films. Never expected that.
Couldn’t disagree more with this mate!
For me NTTD just didn’t feel like a Bond film. Think it was too heavily influenced by Craigs age and the fact it was his last film - an over emphasis on Bond as a middle aged man, unsure of himself and emotionally fragile. Sorry but that’s not Bond. NTTD isn’t a patch on Casino Royale where Bond is Bond - a tough, cocky, self assured, smooth, womanizing MI6 agent, not a lumbering, loved up, tearful hasbeen.
There were other irritants too, particularly the fact that Dr Swan is such a dreary, monotone leading lady, incredibly hard to like. And yet the agent he worked with at the beginning whilst he was with the Americans was great, but got virtually no screen time. The depiction of M, some of the unnecessary woke stuff.
In my opinion this was DC’s weakest Bond film, I’d rather watch Quantum than sit through NTTD again.

Ha it’s good we differ!
Can’t explain my reasoning without going into spoilers, but this ticked a lot of boxes for DC’s final outing for me.
Very disappointed with this.
I thought Skyfall was the weakest of the Daniel Craig era but found this to be worse, full of plotholes..
Action scenes were good but overall it just wasn't Bond for me.
So many negative comments, I've not seen it but my mate has, reckoned that the almost 3 hours flew by, nothing bad to say about it at all.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
I’ve just come back from seeing it.
Overlong, pacing was lumpy, script needed a lot of tidying.
Not enough action, virtually no humour, and the villain was hugely underdeveloped to the extent that it was very unclear what his plans and motivation was. I actually felt some sympathy for him.
5 out of 10 maximum.
So clever my foot fell off.
Loved it from the get go and a nod to OHMSS throughout was a nice touch.
Just been to the movies to watch it, still trying to work out why the villain was so under developed. And the ending, wtf?
Wish I’d never gone to see it being honest, nothing like a Bond movie, what a shame they’ve sodding ruined that franchise.

Loved it but I’m a massive bond whore and DC fan so not much of an objective viewpoint 😂
I just don’t get what most people were expecting, it’s Bond FFS, it’s not going to win any oscars. It’s like everyone that moans about top gear and grand tour but still tunes in every week to moan about the lack of real car reviews
My only disappointment was he ordered a shaken martini 🍸 whereas one of my favourite lines in casino royale when proffered such was “do I look like I give I dam”
Presumably no more bonds now so nothing for people to moan about !
Some difference of opinion, then.
My thinking on Bond is that unless it's really gritty, realistic film-making then you might as well go with humour. It's when there's a queasy mix of the two that it doesn't work.
Hence my preference for early Connery and early Moore. The former being quite pathological in some scenes and the latter being a parody to an extent. I even prefer Niven to po-faced seriousness when it's clear events are ludicrous but being played straight.
I liked Craig's ability to pare down the character and his ability to be transparent about his problems. The test fails, the drinking, the mental health issues.
I would really like to see more transparency still.
I'll watch this film but perhaps not with the children.
By the way, I just can't get past Dalton as every time I see him, Flash Gordon quotes go off in my head. Sorry - too much Saturday morning TV.
We went to see it yesterday at the local independent cinema. Afternoon showing £7.50 each. Thought it was great entertainment, not too much comedy/tongue in cheek and the time flew by. If I want gritty reality I'll read Solzhenitsyn.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
I quite enjoyed it but needs a second watch to catch all the details…and refs to earlier films..
I think what it exposes or highlights is just how good Fleming was as a writer story teller with the classics, the plot comes first then everything fits into place with perilous ‘moments’ along the way….
Since the advent of Jason Bourne and the Mission Impossible franchises the bar has been lifted on budget and bodycount and creating massive stunts…which are fantastic in many ways but it seems like a game of Top Trumps and “Bond” has had to continually crank up the action to retain position as P1 for action…It feels this need is prioritised over a bloody good story with a classic ‘baddie’…..
That said the car chases are spectacular opening scene is well superb…

Watched this today and really, really enjoyed it.
Yes there was a softening of the sociopathic Bond that Craig has portrayed innhis tenure.
But, I do think that the film rounded out Craig's tenure extremely well.
The fan service and call backs to previous movies and Bond lore were exceptional.
There was 1 scene in particular that really summed up how the writers felt about Bond in the 21st century.
When Bond needs to open the silo doors, and Q says "I'm searching for schematics, it's a 50's design(sic)"
While he's talking through the sequence, Bond that 1950's dinosaur appeared perfectly at home and immediately knew how to do it, and had it finished whilst Q was still waffling on.
IMO it was an effort to portray the stereotype in action and highlight his place in a changing world.
Some very preachy exchanges with Rami Malik and I feel that M's character arc was severely diminished too versus his original traits.
Overall though? Really enjoyed it and closed off the Craig era well.
Next Bond?
I'd like a continuation of the Craig type, or better yet?
A reversion to a Dalton type, the latent violence and adaptibility to circumstances.
The drive of revenge, the brutalist nature of the Bond Archetype.
In a world of shifting mores and softening characters I'd love the Craig/Dalton style to continue.
On the watch front?
Not a fan of the NTTD omega.

Saw it again tonight….. better again this time around I felt
But what watch was “007” wearing - not James Bond
As for Bond and his Omega - I noticed it more this time - it gets quite a lot of air play really - especially when he’s on his knees in front of the main villain

We went to see it Friday afternoon. Cinema was packed even after all these weeks but it was half term.
The film was enjoyable but felt a little different to other bond movies, but cannot put my finger on why. Probably need to see it more times.
Enjoyed the beer and choccy buttons, been a long time since last visit.

Saw it yesterday. Enjoyed it very much. No complaints.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Saw it on Friday evening - really enjoyed the movie.
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Took a trip to Plymouth to see it.
Didnt like it at all.
So long I was fidgeting in my seat and it just didnt seem like a James Bond film. At least when Moore was knocking on they didnt make such a thing of his age. I really dont like the PC angst either. Also, the end didnt make any sense to me - why do that?
As mentioned above the villians didnt have much presence either.
I saw Moonraker on the TV last weekend and enjoyed it far 'moore'
I thought it was ace…. Really enjoyed it
Had some really powerful moments and great bits of action…. Female characters a lot stronger too
Just don’t overthink it!
I read that after this weekend its about to overtake Avatar at the UK box office.
Pretty crazy considering the times. Don't think it will overtake Skyfall but its not that far behind
Its out for streaming UK this Friday
Watched it last Sunday, terrible film.
My 12 year old daughter has never seen a Bond film so after the crap she has had with COVID I thought a trip to the pictures to watch this would be ideal, she said she enjoyed it but if I would have been on my own I would have left 90 mins in.
I felt it more a “Craig” film than Bond film, a last hoorah so to speak, I won’t watch it again! The baddie is also terrible, in my opinion of course, bring back Jaws!
Watched it last week, blimey even for a Bond movie that was a hoary old chestnut..nanobots, bionic eyes, the phantom of the opera,...let it die it's past time.
Quite enjoyed it.
Less woke than I'd imagined it would be.
There was a bit towards the end where the baddie did something rather convenient, to the point it seemed daft, and then just disappeared without much of a plan. Bit strange for a supposed supervillain.
I won't say that Daniel Craig was the best Bond, they all seem so different, but he certainly grew on me.
Absolutely no idea where the franchise goes from here.
