    126660 Vs 136660 - pics

Picked up a 136660 last week so here are a couple of pictures of it against my 126660 if anyone is interested. Minute differences.

The main differences are new glass, AR coating, 8% bigger date window, no flip lock diver's extension and what looks like a different caseback.

The new glass/AR seems to allow the dial to stay blue in low light along with the green Deepsea text and was the main reason I wanted the new reference. The new glass has a lip between the bezel and the glass similar to the Daytona and SD43, seems to give less distortion when viewing from an angle.

I didn't notice the date window difference immediately but side by side it is definitely there. On the older version the AD refused to remove the flip lock for me as it was an "unauthorised modification" so I'm not bothered that this came without it. Caseback change is meaningless to me.

For ease in the pics the date on the 126660 is the 10th
The date on the 136660 is the 11th. On the rear pics old is left and new is right.

Interesting to see them side by side. Looks like the newer version has more Titanium in the caseback with a smaller ring of steel if that makes sense. The newer one also looks like it has a slightly thicker caseback with an extra step in it. Interesting that these differences mean an entirely different reference - are the movements the same? Apologies I’m not much of a Rolex expert any more

Love these nerdy type of posts, thanks for posting. The AR must be the biggest gamechanger here. I am hoping for that to get onto the SD43 and I am back in.

Did you wet them slightly for extra effect?

Thanks for posting. Will you keep both or move one on? If so, which one?
( reckon I would keep both.)

I didn't realise they'd brought out a 3rd version. Every day is a school day!

Strangely, to my eyes anyway, the 126660 looks bluer than the newer version.

At one point I had two JC 116660’s (long story) and there were dial variations too that had passed most by but they were quite significant. These are interesting changes, it looks like the clasp on the right is slightly wider, is that true? thanks for posting.

Hard to get the colour fair and accurate with both watches in the frame due to how thick the crystals are but I'm confident both have the exact same dial. Both have a lot of reflection head on but I think the newer one has less when not looking head on.

Clasp is the same on both - scientifically verified with a pack of soluble aspirin with a nail imprint.

There is more Ti on the new caseback along with the first mention of "RLX Titanium" but the older caseback looks nicer imo although you'll never see it.

Can't work out if one is thicker than the other so I've ordered some digital calipers which should hopefully be here Wednesday.

Apparently, another difference is that the 13 bezel is also slightly slimmer - although I don't really see it (try to measure that with your callipers!). I could have sworn that the lugs on the 13 are shorter, but it's probably just the camera angle.

Out of interest, is that just 2 dust / water marks on your 13 bezel at the 46-47 minute mark? It almost looks like two small dents (just in case it arrived damaged).

I wonder which one will spend more time in the safety deposit box...

My eyes are getting old - I can’t see much difference. Apparently the case shape is changed?

why would they remove the Fliplock dive extension?

Maybe because it affects comfort and even Rolex have realised nobody actually uses these watches to dive.😈

Great comparisons, seriously regret getting rid of my 126660.

Ive still got a love in with my 126660 I love how the blue pops and against all the other variations of sports rolex Ive had its my favourite, hadnt even realised there was a new variation out - certainly not enough to warrant a change for me but appreciate the write up - wear in good health

Not surprised the 126660 sold so quickly on the other forum. Generous with your asking price for a nice watch.

Eh? No mention in this thread of it being sold (and why wouldn't it be put up for sale on here first, for the Fundraiser?!). But, you probably have your finger on the WIS pulse, I definitely don't.

Thanks for taking the time to show the (small but detailed) differences between the '12 and '13 here.

Apparently wanted to save himself from the TZ forum drama. Certain irony there. A deposit was allegedly taken too.

    Very nice.

Date improvement is great. Always thought the unmagnified date looked too small on the SDs.

Love the new caseback. More Ti is good.

Not sure if it’s the angle of the photo, but do the endlinks curve down more on the newer version?

I was able to purchase a 126660 (black) from the Rolex AD yesterday. I love it!
