"The infinite two minutes"
A Japanese subtitled film that the wife recorded from one of Sky's channels (Great movies! IIRC).
Really low budget, it looks like a student project. Quite enjoyable and they thoroughly explore the theme.

Ambulance. Watched it on the plane. A modern equal to The Rock IMHO. Really enjoyed it
Old Henry, lowbeat cowboy film about Billy the kid if he'd survived to be an old man.
I enjoyed it

I’ve been a fan since it’s video release in the 80’s and you can buy it on Apple. Loved this film as a kid.

Agree, great movie.

Watched 'nope' in the cinema. I'd describe it as a really good film that I didn't enjoy - kind of how I didn't enjoy Pulp Fiction but knew it was a good and very clever film technically.
Nope is like that. Very stylised with a lot of hidden meaning and innuendo - and a fairly gripping story that IMHO is slightly at odds with the style of movie but I think that says more about my paradigm than the film itself as it does a good job of achieving what it wants to. A thinking man's Sci-fi/Western
My sons and I watched the six-episode Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi this week. We were all underwhelmed. At best, I'd rate it 2-1/2 of 4 stars.
'Licorice Pizza' on Amazon prime, quirky and funny coming of age movie set in the early 70's, different from all the hyper action CGI movies. It also has a great soundtrack with some amusing cameo's - not for everyone but we throuoghly enjoyed it.
Watched Finch starring Tom Hanks last night. Nice enjoyable film, he rarely gets them wrong, does he

Our holiday rental has a pool table, so I was inspired to watch The Color of Money as I hadn't seen it in years. A really good film which I think has been overlooked. Great performances from the lead actors.
Watched Beast last night. Kind of like Jaws The Revenge but with Lions. Probably a 5/10 - wait for it to come out on Netflix/Sky
Watched Maverick last night.
I can't remember a film that I have been really looking forward to seeing that has dissapointed me so much!
I thought it was terrible apart from the flying scenes
Anyone else?
Watched the Buzz Lightyear movie on the Disney channel last night, superb stuff.
I think I saw it in the last week in the cinema last week but I thought Elvis was an excellent film

Loved it. Bombastic retelling of the legend.

Anyone watched Beast...any good, thinking of sticking it on shortly, thoughts much appreciated...
I was also contemplating a look. Rotten Tomatoes shows it 69% "Fresh" from critics, and 76% "Fresh from audience responses.
After reading some of the reviews from Top Critics, I think I might pass.

Belated thanks PC...well we watched it...meh, nothing special.
We watched ‘the unbearable weight of massive talent’ last night, I absolutely loved it. Obviously very ‘meta’ but highly entertaining and recommended
Rewatched Sicario and then watched Sicario 2 for the first time. Really good, intelligent action films for want of a better word. Lots of shadowy government agencies and how they deal with drug, people smuggling around the US/Mexico border.
Just watched Bullet Train. I had low expectations but thought it was excellent with some great comedy moments among the bloodshed. Felt as if Guy Ritchie and Quentin Tarantino had teamed up to make a movie!
Jaws. A true classic.

'7 Prisoners' on Netflix. Superb if harrowing Brazilian drama concerning modern day slavery. Some uncomfortable parallels with the Western world.
Enjoyed watching this on Netflix tonight

Watched Everything Everywhere All at Once and thought it was very good.
Also watched Interstate 60 with Gary Oldman, cameo from Michael J Fox and had Christopher Lloyd in it too, another i enjoyed a lot.
Have watched "Stalker" and am presently watching "Solaris," by the same director. Stalker is slow going, but the cinematography is really good. The whole premise is interesting and if you take the time to comprehend it, it's a very good piece of cinema. Solaris is a better paced film so far. Quite slow to begin with but gets going after a certain point.
Fight Club
As odd as it may sound, I had somehow not seen this film, so put that right last week.
Loved it.
Now read the book.
Its even weirder than movie
Pahlahniuk wrote it while working as a car mechanic and most of the stuff he wrote, especially the food part and insertion of porn in cartoons was inspired by the stuff his friends did. He had to alter the recipe for explosives due to FBI.
Same goes for Solaris.
Stanislaw Lem wrote a masterpiece.

Bohemian Rhapsody. Not the biggest Queen fan, but I can't deny their greatest hits are something special. Film was decent with no real surprises. The Live Aid section was excellent, really captured how music feels live, and as I was 9 at the time and remembering watching it, I probably didn't appreciate how good it was then.
Watched The Dry starring Eric Bana. I thought it was a decent Aussie film

I loved 'Stalker'. Probably one of my favourite films ever. It's based on the book 'Roadside Picnic' which is worth reading before or after the movie for context. 'Solaris' is pretty good too, both made during the Soviet era, so great pieces of social history.
I watched 'The Guilty' last night on Prime. A Danish movie about a cop on emergency phone duty. Really enjoyed it. Cracking plot and script (even as subtitles).
The departed on Netflix, yet again. Could be the most minutes I have watched of a movie ever
I watched ‘I Came By’ with Hugh Bonneville. The wife wanted something nice and gentle and we thought he always plays good roles, but not this time. One of those films that has your heart racing and makes a good nights sleep difficult.
Drive My Car is a modern classic. I saw it in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center when it came out, and was able to screen it at my library last night. It is ripe for parody a la The Simpsons, but only because it is so elegant and moving and gorgeous. Watch it in a theater if you get the chance.
Snatch, all time favourite
Licorice Pizza
Wouldn’t call it great but I enjoyed it.
Bit of a teen pop movie, lost its way a bit in the middle.
