What the hell is Owen talking about saying Liverpool are the best in Europe.
FFS they have lost the league and champions league.
I didn't really want the scousers to win but I agree Real were undeserving of the trophy. Very negative play, couple of rapid counter attacks and nicked the win from a pitiful two shots on target. Still overall it's been a good tourney this year, I've caught loads of matches and enjoyed most.
I disagree anyone that wins the trophy is always deserving of it. We can make a case for other teams being more deserving but let’s not take anything away from Real Madrid just like was can’t from City who deserved to win the league. That’s football you can’t win everything and you have to take the rough with the smooth.
Football and watches really do seem to bring out the worst in some people. Or maybe it’s just the internet. I honestly believe if some people on here only typed what they would actually say in a face to face interaction it would be a much more pleasant place.
Listening to Gerrard & Owen you’d think Liverpool completed the quadruple and we’re favourites for the World Cup, it’s a cup final and you play to your strengths not the opposition. They haven’t got the fire power of Liverpool’s and we’re always looking to nick a goal and then defend, credit to Ancelotti he’s very, very good at his job.
Thats a bit odd. Liverpool fans seem to have no problem ramming these sort of results down other teams throats when they don’t win.
One of the reasons why so many people dislike Liverpool is the fans who think their club is the chosen one. When they win they’re the best, when they don’t the best team didn’t win.
Two domestic trophies is still a great season despite the PL and CL loss
3 finals. 330 mins of open football . 0 goals .
Mentality monsters. The Quad Squad . Best ever . Etc etc etc.
Not fit to be named as a rival to the dirty oil money state owned club .
Enjoy your parade .
Mugged by a very clever team...and a great keeper!
Still the last team to beat RM in a Euro final....
Cheers,
Adam.
I will look back and say it was a good season that could have been great had we won the league. The Champ's league would have made the season better for me, but I would have swapped a Champs league for the trophy your team won in a heartbeat.
Here's hoping your manager prioritises the Champions League next year and gives us a chance not to miss out to you again despite the amazing run we went on this year and a few years back and still missed out.
Thought we would have walked it but that’s football.
Totally dominated them but just didn’t have to luck tonight. Tells a story when their keeper gets the man of the match. I think it was 25 shots for 2 in the end but ah well, exciting season for Liverpool fans.
As for Ryan and a few others zzzzzzz. Feel fairly embarrassed for you in all honesty.
Liverpool have taken massive numbers all over Europe and have done for 50 years. That’s hundreds of games played in Europe and the numbers of incidents is minute.
Hard to argue really with people who change their team midway through seasons and then back again, it’s not really worth the debate.

Haha. What a joker. More fans at the emptyhad than on your parade.

Edit- and the only time Maine Road had any fans in the stadium was when it hosted the FA cup semi-finals featuring Liverpool back in the 80s
I have stood on the Kippax, and can say it was the sh1ttest ground I have ever had the misfortune to visit. And that is saying something given the sh1t grounds of the 1980s I visited.

Gosh, this thread went downhill quickly :-)
Not a classic certainly, and I’d say Liverpool had the best of the play but the history books don’t show great games / negative play / best team lost etc
It will show, winners 2021/22 Real Madrid
Everything else is just noise
Haven’t checked the news yet (almost scared to) but I really do hope there was no violence last night
In a general sense, it would be great if our Liverpool and City supporters could partake in the TZ football threads without getting narked all the time. It seriously undermines the discussions.
Once again (because I don't think Liverpool played at all well against Spurs in '19) the game was there for the taking... not really much of a spectacle, and Real's/Ancelotti's nouse won the day. Owen made a fool of himself to the extent that his ability as a pundit really should be questioned, and Klopp was... well, Klopp in the subsequent press conference. Oh, and anyone that understands football will know that in a sane world Benzema's goal would have stood - the offside rule really does need a complete overhaul.
There's no question that Liverpool are a very good side, and I'm sure they'll be in the mix for everything next season. That said, I think we will be too.
All a bit silly if you ask me, football games are won or lost and as a fan despite any hurt of a loss I have never felt the need to get personal with somebody or bring something non football related into the discourse.
As to how many fans a club has or how many attend a parade then how is that of any relevance? Manchester United fans have always irked me for refusing to accept City are the team of recent decades simply because they're rivals from Manchester. City fans celebrating Liverpools failures resemble the same mentality as that of those United fans for me.
City fans should now be mature enough, not to concern themselves with celebrating the failures of other teams and instead celebrate their own numerous successes of recent times. It's for exactly this type of behaviour United fans will forever refer to City as a 'small club' and continue to use the term 'City fans' in a demeaning manner.
The fact that the United fans openly supported City over Liverpool was testament to the fact they were confident despite City's successes they could confidently still refer to them as the lesser club whilst that was clearly not going to be the case with Liverpool. Judging by some of the City fans comments I can see why the United fans would subscribe to such sentiments.
It is s a shame as I really like Manchester City as a club and have always done so even before they were purchased by the current incumbents. The reason for my being that way may be a lot to do with a successful City really bothering the United fans.
I’ve brought nothing personal in to this myself. I’ve defended the equivalence of Hillsborough and Heysel as well as challenging statements about fans being killed.
I don’t support Liverpool and wouldn’t want them to win a coin toss. Disappointed to see some of the comments made here though, I’m hoping it was a bit too much drink last night.
Huge congratulations to Real Madrid, best team in Europe by miles this year beating the champions of France, the champions of England, the champions of Europe and the Carabao Cup winners.
I agree with the above ( well except the last line, which is a total lie -ha!)
End of the day Liverpool didn’t create a clear cut chance in 90min while real could of won 2-0.
Regarding the entry trouble was it just Liverpool fans that had the issues or was it both sets ?
