    Chancer?

This just popped up on my Facebook feed. Are they really going for this much?

Super colour on that dial, I’d happily wear that.

I’m sure there is scope for a bit of negotiation towards the £15k or £16k mark unless one of the Instagram must haves jumps in and throws a wedge of cash at it.

Completely nuts, but the market is what it is.

The last to sell on eBay went for £9.5k in the US a couple of weeks back.

Doesn't really matter if this is the going rate or a sensible price, only takes one person with enough money burning a whole in their pocket to make adverts like this worth a try.

Is that really a real Rolex dial colour?

Not so long ago it might have been suspected of coming from a watch company in Sussex.

Good grief, it is real. https://www.rolex.com/watches/oyster...4300-0007.html
    RRP of £4850!

Madness when you consider what else you could get for the asking price. You could have a great two or three watch collection from makers arguably superior. But brand trumps all for some I suppose. A fool and his money.

Wasn’t a member here caught out hoovering up SC bargains that ended up on that website? It was a while ago but it involved Murph. Murph68 or something similar.

Not sure if it was Murph68 or not, but i definitely remember a member here snatching up bargains to sell on at decent profits. The shop is in one of the Cardiff city centre arcades, never seems to be open- not surprising if he is selling a few watches with that sort of mark up.

If you think that’s bad, don’t look up the turquoise/Tiffany resale prices!

That's not how it works or people would just loft everything ridiculously high in the hope there's morons about.

To be honest, I see dreamers on eBay too and wonder if the crap at ridiculous prices ever sells.

That surely presents a good opportunity for the savvy seller. If everyone is asking £25k for a £5k watch, then price yours at £20k and it will seem like a bargain.

That would be a poor financial decision on your part if you were offered one at a penny over RRP.
