Very nice piece, Eddie, thank you...
I had a look at the IWC MkXI Cal. 89. especially the side profile, movement and the domed lens. Very nice indeed... In fact its what I have been hoping for. Brings back memories of the Rolex Bubble Backs. You would know the original specs more than I, but I adore the old 12.7mm-13mm case height's of the 30's and 40's era pieces, modest model lug to lug heights (I notice you call it), and the 36mm-37-38mm case sizes, I cant remember exactly, sorry. Many have said you did a perfect job on the PRS-29 at 37mm and I agree, thank you...
I would personally like to perhaps see a date (option) at 3'oclock on the IWC MkXI (ala' MkXVI, which was 38mm), if possible and an ETA 2824-2 auto option if possible with screw down crown and screw in crown tube (on the auto). Although I would also consider dateless, of course! I see a resemblance to the IWC MkXI in your Speedbird dial too, which I overlooked before. I am hoping you use the Swiss 2801, but with a solid caseback (I'm weird I know). What an heirloom find that would be... After I purchase a PRS-29A or AM (havent decided yet) and PRS-10, I may consider your 36mm Speedbird if released, or wait for you're IWC re-run should you decide to go ahead with it.
Please note: on 36mm Speedbird, while I have no experience with them, I have read the bracelet end links were not as beefy on later models as they were on the earlier ones, which has seen some looking for earlier examples such as PRS-1. Hoping this can possibly be factored in with the new future 36mm and subsequent 39mm versions, as well as a Swiss manual wind movement, as with the PRS-29 and Swiss Made on the dial :)
I would also love to see a beautiful early 20th centry inspired dress piece in 37mm-38mm-40mm with the bold squared angular drilled lugs and flutted polished bezel (like on your discontinued Presista Cheque Airforce and similar to Laco Cuxhaven), polished stianless steel case, screwback case and maybe bezel as it can be replaced if damaged like a Rolex Datejust, thermally blued and lumed framed Cathedral hands or those on the PRS-29AM (era relevant) and a milky white ceramic porceline dial (a nice off white cream like PRS-29Am would do though) with black railroad track, inner romans and outer minutes, every five minutes, with a classic subseconds dial at 6 O'clock. F.P. Journe style! - Applied dial (if possible). A true double domed (box) sapphire crystal, which you are famous for (which we havent seen yet on a watch like this and 100m of WR and anti-magnetic cage. I am no expert, but I did some reading and you could consider a cheaper 'tractor like' 17 jewel decorated pocket watch type movement (if it fits) with thermally blues screws, rubies, such as the UNITAS 6498 movement used in the 42mm German Laco Cuxhaven, I believe this would be an heirloom worthy piece, we have not seen with these specs and high domed crystal. A true early 20th century timeless classic, I would adore and I am sure others would too, even non enthusiasts...
Sorry, just sharing my hopes and dreams. Thanks so much for considering, I appreciate you, Sir... Cheers.

Do it bubi, you won't regret it.
I was supposed to be holding off until Christmas day to wear this watch, but that idea was kicked to the kerb days ago.
Fantastic watch with a true vintage, quality vibe.
Loose trousers, heavy brogue shoes, wooly jumper with suede elbow patches, linen shirt, swb Land Rover.
It makes you feel like a character from All Creatures Great and Small just by strapping it on your wrist.
Very James or Tristan, in a very good way
The best of British
How many white dial Everest's do you have left Eddie?.
I think those 24 remaining Expeditions will go very quickly, is another batch in the offing straight away Eddie?

I have been waiting for the updated Everest 36mm to become available, now a quick question for clarification which may sound a bit daft but here goes....when you chaps mention "The Shop" are we talking the main Timefactors website or is there some secret link to a special forum users shopping page that you guys all use when purchasing Eddie's new releases ?
Sorry of it sounds a like a bit of a noob question.....
thanks
Paul
So expedition and white Everest make up 200. Wonder whats the other 100...

Damn... one day to go and I am torn between the expedition and the black everest. Or robbing a bank.
The expedition is the sh t, no doubt about that.
But the black everest is a charming mmmmmmmm sonofagun.
So
My plan:
Rush to buy the expedition
Arrive 25th...
Settle on the everest.
I've never married my girlfriend's sister before, it may be what I've been waiting for but I certainly did not expect all this horological drama.

Hi Eddie,
Just a suggestion to add the words "black dial" to the Latest News page.
from:
The Smiths Everest 36mm with rivet bracelet and Miyota 9039 automatic
movement will be available from 14:00 hours GMT on Sunday 27th October

Only a suggestion to match the white dial news below and so pleased you are on the mend.
Good to hear that.
Btw. It is a pity that you did not make the clasp as in the prototype. In my opinion, this wolud be the best looking and best matching clasp of the whole TF models. The current clasp is probably better made and more comfortable to use, but it doesn't have that vintage charm (of course it is much better than the first version).
There are no perfect watches, but the one with the clasp as in the protoptype would be damn close.
Whoop! Checked out successfully at 14:02. To say I’m somewhat delighted is an understatement. That’s from a Yorkshireman spending money too. I’m ashamed of myself!

REVIEW: SMITHS EVEREST EXPEDITION PRS-25W - UNBELIEVABLE HERITAGE & QUALITY
https://www.watchchronicler.com/revi...itage-quality/
I saw the YouTube video last night when searching for the black 36mm as it's already got me toying between the both , the video really shone the watch in an excellent light and pretty much sold me to want it. It really is quite a thing of beauty.
I felt I had to reply to some comments from the peturbed crowd as to why the watch says GB on the dial yet has a Japanese movement (is it that hard to grasp??)
I felt like saying (well I did) that it's self evident why the watch says GB on the dial as it's alluding to a time and period of the Great British Empire and it's achievements in watchmaking and historical successes. Probably a few trolls I think .

I finally managed to secure a new PRS-10 from Eddie. To say this is the watch I have been waiting for is an understatement. I have wanted a watch exactly this for decades. Can't wait for it to arrive!
The new riveted bracelet is such a massive improvement on the first version. Obviously, the clasp is far smaller and subtle, but the links themselves are thinner and not as chunky and I even like the faux rivets. The bracelet makes make the 36mm Everest feel much more vintage and charming when on the wrist.
However, it's a shame that you can't really use the original, plain design endlinks with the new bracelet, as I'm not a fan of the faux 'end caps' of the new ones. I think it makes the watch appear a little fussy. However, for the price of £46, it's a great upgrade.
Thanks to Passenger I have managed to get hold of one of these. Still stickered up and pretty much as new - the bracelet hasn't been worn and is still in its shrink wrap which is how it will remain, for the time being at least.
Straight onto a TSS Atlas Vintage strap.
First impressions are that it feels spot on size wise and the dial / hands look superb.

It looks stunning on that brown leather. I'm going to have to pick one of these up when they're available again.
I've not taken mine off since I got it, and on brown leather it's a banger

In a similar vein, well worth a listen.

Thought that I would try the bracelet just to see how it compares to the one I had on my black dial Everest (first version with the gigantic clasp!)
In the flesh its much better than in photos to my eyes, the faux rivets are not as busy and in your face as I was expecting.
Once I'd sized it I was very pleased with how it wears. Less chunkier than the non rivet earlier version and more in keeping with the proportions of the watch
Impressive for under £50
Hadn't noticed that Bob
Wonder why?
