I think someone bought them a copy of "Limited Editions - How to test your loyal customer base to breaking point while raking in a mint" by O. Mega.
Around £5.5k each and limited to 200 of each model

I quite like them especially the top one. However, for 5.5k I would at least expect them to remove that dreadful X on the dial.
I quite like the X.. A lot of people don't seem to see the intertwined 'S' and 'P' incorporated into the 'X' shape - which I think is quite clever ('S'eiko 'P'rospe'X').
5.5k is punchy however...
Perfect for the man lacking a big knob.
It’s a 3 from me. Sorry but can’t see why these are over £5K - please explain.
talk about oversized crown, looks wrong to me like that
Not for me, mostly due to price. Is it bad that I like how ugly they are? I like ugly watches

Another one struggling with the £5k price tag, that seems very high given the number of watches and limited editions that Seiko put out. Isn't that Grand Seiko money?
Is it April already?
That’s a hard no from me. Nothing with that ropey PS is getting in my watch box whatever the specification.

Nope GS is another level. Take this thing - https://www.ablogtowatch.com/grand-s...edition-watch/
Can they please sack this Omega director asap.
Do you have model numbers for these? And are they Thai market?
Could it be that Seikos strategy is to be the largest watch manufacturer in the world with models for every price and quality point? 🙄
Gray
Apart from that OTT crown and the rather gash power reserve 'gauge', I rather like those. But not 5.5K like. Shame...
I like, but with the decimal point one step back ! ££££

How much of that watch is original/new? Is it mostly existing bits and pieces stuck together?
I ask as I'm wondering about the profit margins.
200 x 5.5k =1.1mil. Doesn't sound like massive money for a company like seiko, and less if there was a bit of R&D of new components, but may be worth it if all the components existed already.
Afaict it's new colour bezels, second hands, and some dial printing.
I'm sure that Seiko will make a decent profit on these but, as you say, it won't be massive on their scale of operations. Nevertheless, it seems to me that these limited editions keep interest well and truly alive and that they generate awareness of and sales of their other watches. It does seem to work out well for Seiko. ;-)
Someone will buy them regardless of the price look at what people shell out for a Rolex today.
Crazy money.
