It does nothing for me I’m afraid - and certainly not at that money!
The one thing about it that makes it a Yachtmaster -the raised numbers on the bezel - is the one thing that I really dislike about Yachtmasters!

I do agree with you, it is a dive style watch. As you say, dive computers are the only realistic way now for recreational scuba. However, on a recent Far East dive trip I did see several people on our liveaboard using a computer plus a dive watch, which I assume was a back up. (nobody was allowed to dive without a computer) Rightly, or wrongly, my back up is my buddy's computer.
Here is an interesting link with some background history on Rolex nautical models.

I love it. Hope it is also released in the smaller 37mm size so it’ll be suitable for my teeny wrist.
Don't hate it; don't love it. 6.5/10. Even if I had the money I couldn't be persuaded to spend it on this. But I could see how some could...... at a far lower price.

That Yacht-Master is as boring as it gets. Sorry.
+1, I have a mental image of the stereotypical Yachtmaster owner as a bloke who owns a boat (or wishes he did) and wears a navy blue blazer, can`t see him wearing this.
Can`t get my head around paying £21K for a watch on a rubber strap, maybe I`m missing a trick?
Each to his own, I quite like some of the older Yachtmasters but this leaves me cold.
There’s a quite amusing take on this watch here: https://www.ablogtowatch.com/rolex-y...-226659-watch/
It’s described as an ‘F-You’ Rolex - translated in the piece roughly as a watch that’s unbelievably expensive but doesn’t even need to try that hard. For those who can afford to appear casual about wearing £20k. I’d agree that it’s surprisingly subtle for a yachtmaster, especially one of this value.
Imagine if it was made from SS and circa £7.5k.....5 year wait no doubt
<sotto voce>
I really like it
</sv>
The price is absolutely ridiculous!! However I quite like it!! Also love the rose gold one which is cheaper!!
Can't afford either though

I really want to like this, but without the red Yachtmaster script of the Everose version it loses a vital piece of visual impact.
Love it, but too big, and above all waaaay too pricey.
OP, be interesting to see if any waits lists etc
We all know THIS is the most stunning Rolex to date.
I asked about it at my local AD yesterday and they told me that it starts shipping this month or next, they don’t know how many they’ll be getting and they’ve had two serious enquiries so far.
I don’t think it’ll be a “waiting list” watch, PM models rarely are due to the size of the market at these prices.
They also have a blue dial, 2015, SS yachtmaster in their used display at £7.5k which I didn’t think was a bad price. It must have weighed nearly double what my GMT or Exp II weigh though which was quite a surprise. I guess that’s down to the platinum content.

Can someone do a calculation that will tell us how much nicely thinned down lugs are worth?
The rose gold YM is still one of my favourite. Not keen on this inflated WG one though.
The rose 40mm YM is my favourite Rolex. I love the oysterflex.
I like the new 42mm but would always go for steel over white gold. Its a beautiful watch though.
I really like this watch especially the RG version but personally cannot justify the price. I’d rather get a RG Daytona
No really - if you're in a handicap race, rather than in one-designs, it's useful to know how your elapsed time on the water compares to higher or lower handicap races, and calculate corrected time. That's when a watch with a split-timer stopwatch function comes in really handy - as with the ETA 251.26X quartz chronograph models. They can be set to provide a countdown or regatta function with the chrono hands and are a little cheaper than the YMII, too.
Alternatively, I suppose, you can just wait to see the published results.
The Yachtmaster has no more to do with yachts than the Deepsea has with real Deepsea diving. All make-believe. Boys toys. Nothing wrong with that, I like toys too, but let’s not get carried-away.
Guys with GMTs aren’t PanAm pilots either. Or Milgauss owners high-energy physicists.

These were faked by the Chinese market over two years ago.
I was given two of them (him and hers) by a Chinese customer and threw them in a drawer, as 1) they were fake, and 2) they look meh.
They're faking watches two years before they're released? That's amazing industrial espionage
I think the best Rolex ever made is the yellow gold Day Date on President bracelet.
Definitely not this.

I seem to be in the minority but I really like that. I find the 40mm rolexes look small so 42mm is the perfect size. I'll wait for a bit of depreciation on the price though.
I know it's irrational to admit it but I think it would just look cheap and low rent if it was SS.
Yes, yes, I know you could hardly tell the difference in actual looks alone but, a SS watch on a rubber strap just seems a little cheap for Rolex IMHO.
The best looking Rolex to date is .....
Rolex Milgauss Z Blue dial.
That's because it's my latest acquisition and I couldn't take my eyes off it.

The Yacht-Master was always about being an upscale Submariner, a dressier version with a more luxurious look. Not anymore, this looks cheaper than a SS Sub 116610LN but will cost you three times as much. No one is going to buy this at retail.
If you all want a stealthy slightly oversized diver go try on the new ceramic/titanium 44mm Omega Seamaster now. I had a play with it today. Bloody brilliant watch. Slightly naff rubber strap but I’d take that over this Yachtmaster.
Very boring watch and not worth £21k imo
Its a bit Marmite. Yes I like it, but not at that price
