I am also a bit of a vinyl junky and it is a bottomless pit for money but well worth it.
Your Thoren is fine, but you will want a MC cartridge and that will require the right amplification and PSUs.
Also a good arm is essential, look for either Naim Aros or SME 1V or Vs.
Also a decent wet record cleaner is necessary to get rid of the snap crackle and pop.
Once you play vinyl, you are hooked.
Best to buy 1970s vinyl and earlier as the quality of the 1980s and later stuff went into nose dive. Also the modern 180 gm records are, in the main, ropey.
