Am I the only person to have such a watch?
What is your gee-whizz watch. By this I mean, irregardless of price, the one whose function or form just makes you smile.
Mine is my Precista PRS-17-C. Just to see all 7 hands in action makes me grin every time.

For me, the Submariner date. So good in so many ways.
But recently, I have to say it, it has got to be my late 70's Timex manual wind with chequered flag and orange hour markers. Just love it. Oh and the barmy date window
This one
The closer I look - the more I like it

Two, for different reasons.
My EZM1 for the understated functiona elegance. It looks right to me, just simply right.
Putting my DeLuca to my ear and hearing the El Primero scuttling away is also fantastic.

Mines my daily timex indiglo , been with me everywhere , gets beaten from pillar to post but still I find myself looking at it most days with a little smile .
Never seen another one the same so it's more rare than any Patek :)
Is "irregardless" a word in the U.K.?
To answer the question, my EZM1 is "just right". I don't wear it, but the design is a joy.
The Nixie glow and knowing that 180V is needed to drive the vacuum tubes makes it an easy one for me...
...not that I'm ever likely to say 'gee-whizz' but I understand that it is an American synonym for 'that is rather affecting'.
Me too!

I have never looked at a watch and said gee-whizz.
On second thoughts, I can't recall ever having said gee-whizz or its more correct form gee-whiz.
For me the gee whizz comes from complications. This is my watch with the most

Those last two Zeniths are very close to being my holy grail, I'll take both thank you!

"Gee whizz" wtf
To be honest I have a few I believe?
The one that stands out to me because it was outrageous when it came out and the fact you needed your passport or driving licenses to buy it was the original blue face, analogue Breitling Emergency!! I know plenty would hate it but it genuinly makes me smile purely because of how ludicrous it is珞珞 (I do have one now though so I am biased!!)
The next one for me would probably be an Omega SMP with the blue wavy dial!! Ive had a few but don't have one at the mo but it was my very first decent watch bought by my wife when my son was born!! I remember laying it on the bedside table and just staring at it!! It just made me happy and smile!! I did however take it back as I found out the wife used a credit card to pay for it so it went back
I'll have another no doubt as Ive had many since and it still impresses me now even though I have more expensive watches I just love the wavy dial?!?

Strangely the PRS17C is one watch I just haven't warmed to, sufficiently that mine will be going on SC when I get around to it, and I am an uber-hoarder. Each to his own.
The one I will nominate for this thread is my Aquastar Regate. Mine is in nearly NOS condition, very 1970s chrono styling but with that cool blue-transitioning-to-red arc of dots.
If I'm not mistaken, Neil Kinnock drives a Gee-Whizz. I'm sure that wasn't the expression on my lips the first time I saw him drive it, though.
I thought I'd stumbled into a Jeeves & Wooster play!
My old 1953 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms - simply because its contains a shed lot of Radium and would cause Heath and Safety to have a minor fit.

For me, it would be my Accurist with the Miyota CP00/Citizen C300 movement. The hand retraction feature has always impressed me, and spreading the three alarms a couple of minutes apart actually gives me a fighting chance to wake me up in the morning. Would appreciate a 24-hour chronograph and possibly another countdown timer, but it's still a very well specified movement considering it's from the early 1990s. Very accurate, too, no more than +5 s per month.

I love my MM300 - the shape of the hands and size of the plots make me smile, especially when I've just come in from the sun and they're glowing :)
