    The Furniture Barn - Avoid

Purchased some furniture from this outfit in December and the service is an absolute joke. After being sent an email saying our furniture would be delivered about 2 weeks back. I waited home and nothing was delivered. I spent that week contacting the company, calls ignored, unanswered emails, no call backs from voicemails. I finally got through at the start of this week and was told that my local branch had shut down but the delivery company was delivering on Friday (yesterday). Heard nothing again. Called today and was told that I needed to speak to my local branch to get a refund (the one that had supposedly shutdown). So I rang them, spoke to a couple of chaps who both tried fobbing me off saying it's only been 5 weeks.

What annoyed me most is the fact that of the 5 people I spoke to not one offered an apology for any inconvenience caused.

Reading up it sounds like they have gone into administration. Absolute jokers!

Doesn't make it any less annoying or disruptive to the OP though, does it? (doesnt sound like the money is the issue as per the OP)

I'm not worried about the money. Paid on CC so I am safe but the service was shocking. It's not surprising they are going out of business. They are still taking orders, so as mentioned don't go here if you are buying some furniture.

I make no comment about Furniture Barn here but I wonder just how many companies continue to trade whilst insolvent...

A well known building company has gone bust owning me £3k odd (which smarts!). Got the letter from the official receivers the other day. What smarted even more is they are still taking work and flying around in their vans.

Can't wait to get my 10p in the pound lol.

10p in the pound? I admire your optimism, even as a primary debtor.
