Help please (and a chance to show off your babies)

I am in the market for a daily wear. Sadly the budget is only around £500.
I'm looking for a sports watch on a bracelet but would also like to have other strap options. I like my divers but that is not a deal breaker, I like retro but not vintage for this one. Ideally I'm after a 40mm 3 hander with date but would consider a 42mm max depending on how it wears. I don't mind a bit of colour but tastefully done. I'm not too bothered about A or Q, either would be fine.
I have been looking at a few of the micro brands over the past few weeks but it would be nice to see some wrist shots please.

This is some of what I have been looking at.

I was almost set on an Orbis Morgan EX2 but it looks like it wears pretty big for a 42mm.
These are all 42mm so I would like some 40mm suggestions please as I think a 40mm will be more comfortable for daily use.

The Hamilton is a bit over budget but can be had in Europe for circa £600. I would love to see the Bulova in a wrist shot if anyone has one.
As you can see I'm not far off the magical 50 and my 2 months will be up shortly so if there is anything in SC please let me know (if that is not breaking forum rules).
Of course if anyone wants to sell me a Sub or DS for a monkey, don't be shy.
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Can't go wrong with any timefactors watches really. Had the prs17 and have the 18q for work. Great watches. Will also leave you some cash left over and you will always be able to sell them easily.

The Armida A7 appears to be the type of watch you've been looking at. It's at the 42/43mm end of the size range, but the bezel is 42mm, so it wears like that, but priced at £294 so maybe you could live with that.

    Thanks so far.
I should add that I currently have a nice reconditioned Seiko 6309 as my day to day watch so perhaps something a little different to that.

How about one of these - at current exchange rate just over £500. My experience of another Halios has been very good.

Plenty of Steinhart options for you:

Longines hydroconquest would me my vote (worth going a little over budget for imo)

How come you don't want to go vintage? IMO there's nothing better, for any purchase.

Because some of us find them all old and knackered. See previous thread on this subject!

I just received first Steinhart (Ocean 1) for about 6 months, and I had genuinely forgotten just how high the quality is. An enormous amount of watch for the coin. I can also recommend the OM Explorer II, good quality and a cracking bracelet. Both are at 42mm, the Steiny wears smaller as the bezel is quite wide.

If you are a member on WUS, plenty of similar posts with pics of the 'babies' which will be quite helpful. Even if you are not a member there, you can browse through their dive watch forum. Nothing wrong with asking the question here but might be more helpful to check out similar threads on WUS.

Smiths Everest PRS25. It's the best value sports watch available and very versatile.

I can recommend the Lum-Tec 300M. Mine (below) is the 40mm version (also comes in 45mm).

40mm version comes with a fantastic 22mm bracelet (with easy-micro-adjustment-clasp) and a branded rubber.

    Link => Lum-Tec EU

Here it is on a homemade ammo strap:

Lots to think about there, many thanks.
I really like the retro look of the Aevig but not sure I can do without the date function for my daily desk diving.
Of course everything I like is out of stock. The Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT (Explorer homage) really caught my eye along with the Military Vintage and the Aevig. All on back order.
The Aramar Snowflake is very nice too.

At this price point is there much point in comparing movements? Most of the pieces I am looking at have either the Miyota 9015 or the ETA 2824. I have to admit that although I realise that Swiss is considered superior by many, I am making my choices purely on aesthetics.
