Some great additional family members in here, you can't beat coming home to an exited dog.

Another Bichon. Fresh from a wool cycle :)
Please don't report me to the RSPCA, but we couldn't resist a game of Nugget Buckaroo while tidying up yesterday. He's otherwise an extremely well loved dog!
Teddy arrived home today, and I am very impressed with how brave he's been and how well he's settled in.
Here he is napping (deeply!) after an hour of exploring, chewing and eating

We have 2 Jacks.
The oldest boy, Spot, was 12 in November, he sort of came with the house. We came to view the house and he was just born, we said even if we don't buy the house we'll take the pup! Picked him up on Boxing day. Our house sold, we made an offer and we moved in the following easter, with Spot. He's a class dog.
Denisk will be 5 next Feb. My son and Missus were down in Cork where my son was in a competition with his pony, place called Ballindenisk, thus his name! He came home with them in the truck. You could say he is "Irish by birth, Ulster by the grace of God" now!!! He is wired to the moon and fantastic to be around.
Dave...
And with his favourite toy, which he takes everywhere!
Last night, out of the blue, my youngest Springer who was only 4 suddenly took ill. We called out the vet and she was rushed into the surgery. Despite the best attempts of the vet, who was amazing, she slipped away...
I couldn't feel more shit. Willow, you will never be forgotten.
Rob
Ahh, crap... so sorry for you. It really is like losing a family member, isnt it?
Chin up old chap, and think of the good times with happiness not sadness - you gave Willow a fab life!
What was the diagnosis, out of interest? (I am a new dog owner and trying to learn as much as I can!)
Thank you all, your words are much appreciated. She first showed signs that something wasn't right at 7ish and was gone by 9. I declined a PM, doesn't really matter to me what the cause was now, but it was most likely a poisoning of some nature, (something she ate that she shouldn't) or possibly an Addisonian Crisis, not that uncommon in Springers and often not diagnosed.
Rob
Rob, what aboslute sh1tty news. I don't know exactly how you feel, but my 2 yo springer threw up 10+ times on boxing day. The Monday after the vets performed an exploratory operation and found an entire surgical glove blocking his large intestine. He has all but fully recovered.
I don't know what I would have done losing him at such a young age. My thoughts are with you.
Sean
"Buster" is now 9 weeks old and is a very relaxed chap indeed. Very sorry to hear about Willow Rob. That is just awful. My thoughts are with you.

Springers are generally a hardy bunch in my experience Sean and usually end up going through the wars at some point! Glad to hear he is getting back to normal - completely mad?
Thanks Jason, Buster looks like a handful!
Cheers Seano - indeed many happy times, she was a handful and demanded a lot of attention, that leaves a big hole. My 6 month old daughter helps to fill it.
It's shit isn't it Steve - I'd never even heard of Addisons, but Vet seemed sure that is what it was. The time between her walk and first signs pretty much ruled out poisoning from something she ate then :( It's easy to forget what photos are actually for until something like this happens, thanks Steve...
Rob
Rob, I certainly think all the contributors on this thread feel for you and your family.
Brian
Aye Brian, it is something only a dog owner can really appreciate. My boss, (Ex Navy Yorkshireman) thinks I'm a right soft muppet, but he's not a bad sort overall and I worked from home yesterday...
Wifes taken her and baby off to her Sisters to get out of the house for a couple of nights, I'm here alone with my remaining Springer, its eerily quiet...
Luckily this old boy (now 12yrs) keeps him in check.
Awesome photo of Willow by the way. Springers are a very special breed indeed. Mine is now a semi retired gundog hence the new arrival. Buster's breeder told me Labs are born half trained, Springers die half trained. Guess that's what makes them so special. RIP Willow.
Carlo, now 4 months old:

11 year old Doberman king pincer, I do hope she has another Christmas left in her!
Archie our miniature jack Russell. Cute as anything sometimes pain in the arse other times!
This is Afi, our 4-month old Rhodesian Ridgeback, at Box Hill a couple of weeks ago.
This was my buddy for 11 years. Sadly gone and can never be replaced. This guy was my shadow and usually knew what/where I was going before I did.
He was a bit of an untidy sleeper though.
