Possible? New case, end pieces, clasp and a movement service at Rolex.
M
A work colleague knows I'm into watches and presented me with this last week to see if I knew whether it could be fixed or not?
It looks like it's been run over:
So it looks like a lug is massively bent, there's a huge gouge out of the case and caseback, the bracelet end links are FUBAR and the clasp is dented.
The watch is ticking like a good 'un, although I have no idea what timekeeping is like or what state the movement's in.
What do we think? Salvageable?

Any idea what happened to it?

I would guess Rolex would seek to replace case and clasp and would also insist on full service as a minimum.

Give me a call
I know a man who can deal with that

Let's hope Marc's man can do the job. I suppose it depends on what being fixed means to the owner. I guess bending the lug back, new end links and some gentle hammering on the clasp would get it back wearable with the gouge could be cleaned up I guess too - that would be wearable. Or does the owner want it back pristine?
I just thought I'd share these pictures to show what can be done when you know the right man.
A massive thank you to MarcJ for all his help with this - my work mate is over the moon. Simply stunning

Wow! What a great result, back to full health.
Excellent!
A great result, Im not sure how you managed to keep the stickers on though
Nice!
Goes to show that stainless steel is good stuff for making watches. :D
Well done that man, great recovery that.
Wow, that is fantastic.
I have a GMT in much much much much much worse condition. I will make some photos. Would love to sort it. I will PM MarcJ for advise.
Good grief... that's close to miraculous!
Fabulous job. What's the timekeeping like?

The transformation is quite amazing. Good to know that there are craftsmen out there that can do this stuff.
Great result! Well done!
I would be delighted with that, a very good job indeed.
That's amazing! Thanks for the update
Please tell me there's a Youtube video showing examples of how this sort of work is done?! I'm gobsmacked, the watch looks new!!
Fabulous job - thought that lug looked beyond repair.
Were any parts replaced during the refurb?
Seriously impressed! Very nice job indeed.
Now that is impressive. I can imagine that cost a pretty penny to sort, was it laser welded on the case?
Wow, super job. Any details on the repairs?
Blimey, very impressive refurb!
Very impressive.
A stupid question-is the red bit a reflection?
That's came out well. Any idea how much that cost to repair?
That's one hell of a transformation.
Im properly impressed.
No idea yet. He wound it and set it today so will report back but everything works as it should so I'm hopeful. However, I have told him that a movement service will be the icing on the cake.
We're both amazed at the workmanship though. And to answer another question - no parts were replaced, only fixed.
Amazing end result.
Would like to know, how the case was repaired?
Laser??
Some restoration! Would be interested to understand the work that was required
Phenomenal work.
That looks very impressive work from the pictures, well done!

Genius, thanks for sharing. He even somehow managed to restore the stickers! Well done.
Great work.
Looks fantastic.

Superb job.
What job satisfaction that would bring.
I am quite tempted to throw a watch under my car just to be able to see what can be done to repair it....
Seriously: amazing result, would also be interested in a photo or video account of how the repair was done.
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
