Heartbroken to say we lost Jasmine yesterday.
10 days being unable to keep anything down and then refusing food all together.
Inconclusive blood tests, more blood tests and finally having to
wait until Tuesday for ultrasound examinations. (Bank holiday)
I decided that I wasn’t going to make her wait for a nothing can be done diagnosis.
She slipped peacefully away in my arms. She was 11.
Run free Jazzie, ya big donkey xx

We’ve nicknamed her, Two Slabs Jas, as it took two slabs to cover her.

Thanks Ian.
Isn’t it lovely. Its called Trig-Point and is one of the best drives on the estate.
All three of them have had some memorable retrieves working that field.
It’s about 1/2 mile from home so easy for a walk and a chat but far enough away that they’re not “in the back garden” if you know what I mean.
.. she actually fell asleep like this..https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...84c98c9711.jpg

Winnie had her last puppy trim on Friday. She is booked in next month for a proper cut, so she’s still petty downy and long. Here she is, rocking the 80s soft rock look.

Today, we met up with friends and their two dogs, It was her first walk by a lake and decided she would jump straight in, then again and again, over and over.
She ended up looking like this!

Willowdog is 2 today. Sadly her grooming appointment was cancelled at the last minute, so she still resembles a black&tan sheep.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3232857c77.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...35b329b51e.jpg

Elvis last Saturday evening.
A ‘sleek’ Rottweiler. We feed him 50% more than he should need. But not many Rotties are able to roam on 7 fenced acress, 24/7. He can and makes use of his freedom.

Tess is now 8 1/2 months old, and everything that her Labrador/Staffie mix should promise.
A short, but dense 20kg of nutcase unencumbered by deep thought, she is as dedicated to us, her family, as we are to her.
We think she is very pretty, as well as shiny

This is Louis the Golden Retriever. He is just under 5 months old and weighs in at over 20kg already, his dad was a very healthy 40kg and I think Louis will be similar. If you look closely you’ll see where the little blighter has been chewing our paintwork!!

Our soon-to-be new pup. Comes from great stock - the dam clearly appreciates a nice watch!
Very excited actually :)

It's a Labrador in Rottweiler disguise. Well, to us. Not to people he doesn't know. And certainly not to to dogs that try to be too frisk to me.
Momo’s first day on the beach today, at Holkham, a beach every dog should visit at least once. He was ace, as was Rizzo. Momo did his first dummy retrieve, which was very satisfying.

Guess what his name is...yep...Ozzy!
Dot soaking up the sun.
She goes bright pink and then staggers away to lay on the tiled kitchen floor to cool off. Then she's straight back into the sun again.
We put sunscreen on her bare bits, especially her beak.
She likes to "help" us in the garden i.e you dig a hole to put something in and when you turn round she is sitting in it!
She was 8 years old a couple of weeks back. You'd never guess.

Our gorgeous Jack Russell Maisie who I'm completely besotted with. This photo is about 6 weeks ago when we first got her but feels like she's been around a lot longer. Thanks to my girlfriend for finally convincing me to get a dog, definitely one of the best things I've done in my life. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...bb2ceb70d4.jpg

Just over a year ago these two arrived in our home, having been removed from what can only be described as a horrific environment.
Dorcas (6) and Alice (4) had spent their entire lives penned inside a disused shed, along with eight other dogs. They were all covered in excreta and urine and malnourished. Three of the dogs were too ill to survive and the rest were taken into a rescue centre for treatment.
Dorcas on arrival at the rescue centre:

Alice :

Knowing of our past work with other 'difficult' rescue dogs the centre contacted us to see if we would re-home the two of them together as during their two month stay there they’d formed a strong bond with each other. Furthermore, the rescue centre told us that Dorcas and Alice had some deep-seated issues due to their previous lives and would need a lot of time and effort spent with them in order to get them back to some sort of normality.
At that time we had only recently lost our previous two rescue dogs who had died in quick succession and we had decided to have a break before taking on just one dog. Nevertheless, we agreed to meet with the two girls and thereafter in March last year they arrived. Life went into a complete whirlwind for the following months, despite their ages they were best described mentally untrained puppies but with the complication of being fearful of just about everything. They’d only allow my wife to feed them (I couldn't get anywhere near) but wouldn’t engage in any other interaction. All the normal developments you’d expect of dogs at home was non-existent. House-training took many months, any noise would scare them and visitors were a definite no-go. To say they were a challenge was a complete understatement and at times we worried that they’d never develop, but slowly things started to improve.
Two months in, Alice approaches my wife for the first time (I had to wait a further month):

Month 4 and Dorcas learns to finally 'trust' a tennis ball:

I could bore everyone with the list of 'breakthrough' days but here they are now:

Well done to you and your wife, :doggy:
Wonderful. I am in awe of your dedication and selflessness. I wish I could say I’d do the same but, sadly, I very much doubt I would.
Well done Ralphy. Really well done.
