Thread: Pelagos on Nato and/or FXD owners?

Pelagos on Nato and/or FXD owners?

Who’s wearing their Pelagos on a nato strap if so pictures please.

I’m interested if you used stock spring bars or an alternative (on my Sub I used lug hole spring bars so once in they stayed in until I snipped them with some side cutters)

FXD owners what do you think of the strap?

Original plan was to buy the FXD strap and cut it up just for the hardware and get someone like GasGasBones to make a black version of it?

Been quoted £250 for the strap so considering other options, I was expecting low to mid hundreds not £250 but then maybe I’m out of touch!

The FXD hardware is decent but the velcro just reminded me of animal watches in the 90s or velcro shoes so Ive got it on a navy blue nick mankey strap instead.
Havent got a pic to hand im afraid.

As a left field alternative it might be worth while contacting tactical frog watches, they do a copy of the FXD (NOT branded Tudor) that has a similar (copy) strap
If you just want the Ti hardware it might be a cheaper alternative
    https://tacticalfrogwatch.com/
    Or
    https://www.cooperwatches.co.uk/prod...nh35-automatic
They might sell the strap on its own
Lug width of the Pelagos is 22mm is the FXD the same?

I’m aware of Carl (GasGasBones) but any other custom nato strap makers anyone knows of?

    FXD is indeed 22mm lugs.
I wear mine on a CNS (Cheapest Nato Straps) ridged NATO in grey. Looks great, nice strong (and relatively stiff) nylon, good length for me (fold-back is an inch for my 7 1/4" wrist) and I get to keep my (ludicrously expensive) Tudor velcro unworn.
I also happen to have a BB Nato in dark blue, and it suits that soo (as a slip though, ignoring the pockets for the springbars).

I’ve only worn mine on the fabric strap very briefly. Either a nato for me (grey most often) or the rubber when using it in the sea.

I actually prefer it on a 20mm nato.

Not sure how to post pics here, lots on my Instagram @grahamlikewatches

For me this is the very best look for the FXD. Can’t imagine it on anything else tbh

Until I get around to getting an Erika's for mine, I'm just using the 2 supplied - the fabric most of the time, and the rubber when it gets wet. They both really suit the watch, although the fabric is pretty long. As with most Tudor nato/fabric straps, the quality is very good.
I've turned the fabric strap around though, as I think it looks better this way.

Are the Erika’s original straps that good?

I’ve also looked at the seat belt straps from Watch Obsession which I’m thinking of ordering.

I rate them - my watches spend most of their time on them. Each to there own of course, but they're my favourite strap.

I’ve got two Erika’s MN straps for another watch and they are very good. I’d definitely recommend them.

I have mostly used NATO's as the OEM fabric is a little long for me. I got the shorter one but have since lost it, blaming the new kittens.

If my kitten was to be involved in the loss of an OEM Tudor nato strap, I am afraid it would have to be transformed into a strap itself for compensation! Would end up with an interesting pairing too, worthy of the perfect strap match thread

It’s Erika’s original. They do a special at checkout for fixed lug

Coincidentally it turned up today, when I went to print some documents it was inside the printer. Buldhy kittens.

I’m getting ahead if myself as my FXD hasn’t been supplied yet, but I’m favouring an EO strap.

What would you suggest as a good match colour way wise?

At first look I thought Trident and Grey would work well.

I need an FXD in my life. I have an original French parachute elastic strap from a mate who did the French jumps course, now I just need the watch!

That perlon looks good, perfect colour.
I've mine on a similar colored seat belt NATO but find seatbelt NATO are especially prone to stretching loads when wet....so sweaty exercise, swimming or showering get annoying.

Ideally I'd like to wear it on a cobalt blue sail cloth with white stitching... In my head that would be the most awesome look. I can't find such a strap though! I'd any one can help my find it, I'd be forever grateful!

Yeah but a PRS40 looks rubbish even if it was only 10% of the price . Enjoy :)
