    Pimp my Rolex. A resource.

Fed up with owning the same old designs that everyone else has for years and years and years? This is a thread for those who dare. Those who want to stand out from the crowd. Its a resource of info and ideas on pimping, modding, customising and personalising your Rolex. Please feel free to add data and pictures.

I saw a white face explorer 2, but the GMT bezel had been PVD or cerakoted black.
Looked awesome. Think it’s a mod??

There is nothing wrong with individuality and it is good to see someone who has the nerve and drive come up with some creative and original thought.

    Good thread.

Aren’t poor fakes just like a pimped Rolex then ?
Half of them have submariner dial and the like on a supposed GMT master

The definition of a pimped watch would mean it is a modification of a genuine one. A fake is always a fake.

I'm all for modding any watch. If I had an explorer 2, I'd dump the cyclops and the hour hand. Nothing wrong with changing your own watch to suit your own tastes.

No, they are not even a Rolex let alone a pimped one but that should be obvious.

Most of these “pimped” watches prove that an abundance of money and good taste don’t usually go together.

This statement proves that verbose, sweeping, generalised statements are always, 100% false. Everytime. Without fail. 100% FACT.

Owning a standard Rolex is also not a measure of good taste....

    True dat.
I see a lot of these on Instagram. For every few crass ones, I see one that does look good. May not be everybody's cuppa but I wouldn't make such a sweeping statement.

I like to see this kind of thing, would like a dlc coated sub or explorer for sure, they are only Rolex after all not the crown jewels.

My point being modding a genuine IMO just makes it look fake
Each to they’re own I suppose

It would depend on the quality and design of the mod. There are some very tasteful high quality customisations in the links above. Many watch companies do limited edition specials. Some of these mods look like special edition Rolex.

I think that looks rather smart. Rolex....you listening,(ofcourse not, why change now) roll on Basel 2020 I say.
For balance, there are some stunning horrific Rolex mods out there.

It's a render from RolexPassionReport. Has been circulating for two years pre-Basel.

I wonder how many people pimp their rolex then get upset when they find rolex won't service it?

Apart from the GMT hand, batons, different style bezel, black crown......

I'd gladly have a blacked-out Submariner. I think they look amazing and make for some variety when the watch is so ubiquitous.

Wish I'd gone ahead when they weren't Disneyland money.
