A decade ago these were the LCDs and plasma's to have, top quality build and finish, but now, honestly why pay twice the price of a sony/lg/samsung for the same level of tech with a slightly nicer finish?
Morning
Looking at a new TV as we are moving house soon. So having a browse around our local AV specialist and spent some time with the Loewe build 5 demo. Have to say I was not really aware of the brand, which apparently are very big in Germany.
I was really rather taken with it. Nice styling, great picture, built in PVR, ability to mesh with other Loewe TV's and really good sound due to built in sound bar. Not the cheapest TV but also not the most expensive. I believe they use the LG Oled panels.
Have any of you guys got one or experience of the brand good or bad ?

They are a quality brand and the TV's are excellent. Not quite B&O build, I believe Music Matters in the Midlands stock them.
Difficult agency to stock for a dealer unless they can deliver exclusivity and service.
Well built with a decent chassis. Was on my list but bought B & O in the end. Silly money but great sound quality and you can usually use its own remote for ancillaries too even other brands. The rotating stand is a great space saver.
LG or Panasonic OLED would be a better option if you want a solid TV with good picture quality.
The level of build quality and service provided by Loewe are well above the likes of Panasonic, LG etc. There is a website called AV forums with a lot of info on all the current models apart from B&O.
This. I would say these along with Samsung lead the way on tv panels though I think Panasonic used to make the panels for Samsung but can't be sure. If you're wanting better sound quality built in then maybe lowe or B&O but for me I always try to couple TV's with external speakers as these generally far out perform those built into TV sets.
Philips use of LG is correct. Chinese company TP-Vision produces these Philips TVs and is allowed to name them 'Philips' up to 2020. TP-Vision uses LG screens.
I've just put a Loewe in the skip... after 12 / 13 yrs the TV was 'gone'. We use a 3 y/old Sony now (that was in the basement for the boys when they were small and wanted to watch TV in their kids' chamber). The sound quality of the Sony is lightyears behind the sound quality of the Loewe. Be sure to check not only what you see, but also what you hear!

Had a couple of Loewe TVs (and a couple of VCRS!!) back in the late 90s/early 2000s, they were really nicely styled but I recall having a problem with one tv and one VCR so reliability was not all it could have been. Would probably have another though to be fair!
^^^^^ As with B&O too. The video processing is in house made to very high standards.
I’d be very surprised if Loewe is doing anything particularly sophisticated with its processing compared to LG or Panasonic.
I regularly use LG and for even more critical work Panasonic oleds for professional film mastering.
The Panasonics are slightly better for very exacting standards and in reliability. However at home LG is usually within spitting distance of panasonic and its usually a fair bit cheaper.
Loewe in my experience is solid but not worth the money over Panasonic and LG.
If its all about the picture and money is no object : Panasonic every time for me for direct view displays.

I have 2 Loewe at home, both are around 10 years old. One is in our spare room and the other is now an X-box screen getting a hard work out, they have worked flawlessly over the years and the quality is second to none.
Sadly I can’t answer any modern day quieries but they are quality.
