Thread: Dive watch owners, be honest....

I don't dive I snorkel a lot - but I do use the bezel for a seconf time-zone when abroad (saves setting the time) and having OCD its always dead centre so I set it slightly off when I need to remember something important

I just remembered another use for my diving bezel - timing dog walks. I do this two or three times daily. Together with daily lesson timings the bezel on my Shark Diver gets lots of use.

I use it daily; normal use is to mark when parking time ends, when eggs are boiled, when I started...something etc. "Weird" use I have found is to count drinks in pub. Idea is to turn bezel 5mins/1hr interval per pint/can/shot.

Works just perfectly, specially later on evening...if having some...hmmm...difficulties to remember. :p

How does that work (second time zone!)? I spend quite a lot of time working abroad and was thinking of investing in a dual-time.

    How does that work?

What's wrong with the old semaphore flags?
    Cheers,

Actually, I find uni-directional bezels very useful IRL. Lot more than chronos.

I like a divers bezel for handy and easily legible, rough and ready timing - even using the hour hand for approximate, non-critical timing of long duration recreational activities like country walks.
They are less useful for spontaneous and surreptitious timing. But mostly, I just like them for what they are.

    Yes

Yes, I used the bezel on my dive watch about 5 years ago to remind me of the time I had put my pie in the oven ...counting down the 20 minutes. I remember thinking 'wow, that is pretty useful' ...and never used it again .

Is the pie still in the oven or you took it out?
Imagine it would be done by now.

The timer on the office microwave is certainly not COSC, sort of, it times ok but does not stop it from cooking. Perfect for timing lunch time Tesco City Kitchen Char Siu Bao, before it turns really stinks the place out :D

Despite loving the two I currently own my answer is no for both of them.
Never :/ and any diving watch I have I find very uncomfortable to wear.

Honestly? No, never. I'd use my phone to time something.
