One watch to complete the collection, but which one?

Okay, i have an urge to buy one watch to complete the collection. The current collection of watches that will stay:
Rolex Deepsea, Breitling Crosswind, Patek Calatrava, Seiko Marinemaster, Seiko SBBN017, Magrette Carbon (incoming) and two G-Shocks.

On the chopping block: Rolex 116610LN, Tudor Black Bay Blue and some cheapies which aren't really worth mentioning.

After I get rid of the above, my budget would be about 8K GBP.

Looking at my collection, which watch would you add? Budget is max, so cheaper options are also good. Just like to hear your opinions. Watch needs to be 40mm +.

Been looking at the usual suspects, but I would love to hear what you guys think is the one watch to make it all complete. Maybe watches that haven't even crossed my mind?

So, let's hear it, much appreciated 👍👍

You've got pretty much all your bases covered: divers, chrono, dress, beaters. How about something vintage or a smart daily wearer along the lines of the Explorer/Aqua Terra? A smarter chrono like the IWC Portugese. A pilots style watch perhaps?

You seem to have most bases covered. How about the JLC DualTime (40mm)? Less than £5000 new at :-

Since you pretty much have every "normal" base covered, why not get something completely different?

Or maybe a lovely GO with some sort of complication, moon phase or perpetual calendar.

If you have a big wedge to spend, what about one of the 42mm Panerais? Interesting movements, good size, choice of materials and not much like anything you already have. I don't know the model numbers but I think they begin with a 5...
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

    An El-primero chronograph. Maybe a striking 10th.

Just a thought.....why not visit C24 and see what takes your fancy – I'll bet there's many a name on there you've never heard of or forgot about.

Here's a few to look at:
    Pierre Kunz
    Pequignet
    Carl F Bucherer
    Piaget Polo 45
    Paul Picot (Megarotor)
    Parmigiani Pershing
    Azimuth
    Gerald Genta
    Roger Dubuis
    Jaquet Droz
.....there's far too many to mention – just go spend a lot of time looking at what's there.
You're missing retrograde, jumping hour, moonphase, small sub seconds, annual calendar.

One thing you might want to consider, is ditching the Calatrava for an H. Moser & Cie.

The Explorer/Aqua Terra didn't do it for me. I had a big pilot, but thought the crown was too protruding. If it were to be another Pilot watch, it would be the 46mm double chrono or the 43mm chrono. IWC Portuguese has my fancy, especially the 7 days with white and blue. Thanks.

That is a lovely example, Panerai would be a big contender. Only Luminors though and preferably a fiddy.

Thanks for this list, much appreciated 👍. I'll add VC and GO, and have a look!

Also, Cvstos has some reall beasts! I'm missing complications, it seems 😬

    Thanks all for the suggestions.

Two things I have now decided. Not looking for a real dresser (but can be an elegant watch) and some complications would be nice. Along the lines of the GO Senator 70's Panodate, for example.

Not to everyone's taste, but a Hublot Big Bang would add something different to your collection.

At a push, you might even stretch to an AP ROO Diver.

If I had £8k I'd be looking at the Vacheron Overseas or a Royal Oak, dual time or chrono versions can be had within budget.

    VC and GO are no-brainers.

On top of Cvstos, you've Concord, Corum, Schaumburg (Lindburgh & Benson) – and if you fancy a moonphase with meteor dial, you could do worse than DB9Yeti's Martin Braun Selene in SC, that he's practically giving away, if Schaumburg's doesn't do it for you.

And then you have Benzinger, Bvlgari, Chaumet, Cuervos y Sobrinos, DeWitt, Angular Momentum, Carlos Ferrara (now gone), Armin Strom, Louis Moinet....etc

I was going to suggest Martin Braun, but there seem to be a lot of low end models now?

IWC Portofino Perpetual Calendar in yellow gold, doable 2nd hand towards the top of budget
