    5513 Submariner on mesh

If it's not your taste or you feel it's sacrilegious, fair enough, but when I was thinking of doing this I couldn't find any good pics on the Web, so I thought I'd post this in case it was helpful to anyone else.

It's a Watchadoo shark mesh, btw. I'm quite pleased with it and think it goes nicely with the style of the watch.

Thoughtful, constructive comments are welcome. Also, note how I managed to capture the wheely bin in the background. I'm classy like that.

Not for me I'm afraid. The gap from springbar to case is too big.
Personally I feel they only work well on lugless/short lug watches.

    Mesh

I do like that dbt001 . It has totally transformed the look of the watch .

Is it more comfortable than the original bracelet ?

I think it's emphasized more in the second pic because of the angle and I don't mind it on the wrist, but fair point.

Ah, this is where I show my hand. I bought it head-only thinking I would only wear it on a NATO. When I started thinking about bracelets, I balked at paying the price for a genuine Oyster. Instead I will likely spend nearly as much buying other bracelets, then finally break down.

But yes, it's comfortable and lightweight (and my wallet is slightly heavier.)

I like it, I do have a soft spot for mesh bracelets. My favourite option on a watch.

Without having the original bracelet I think you have made an excellent choice! Thinking of trying one on my Damasko.

It doesn't look as if the manufacturer would have done it this way.It looks like an afterthought, so its not for me. Sorry if the post grates.

Thanks for the thoughtful comments, all (both positive and otherwise). Now you see why I posted the pic here and not a Rolex forum. ;)

At quick glance looks like the breitling superocean heritage.
I think it looks quite good, although I'm not a mesh fan.

That was my first thought after putting it on. And that's definitely my favorite Breitling.

Not at all. I agree it doesn't look OEM, and is, by definition, an afterthought. Some twisted part of me enjoys that, though.

Now I think I'll go out to the garage and paint flames on my GTI.

Very different but in a unusual way, it does not actually look as bad as I thought it would.

Each to their own but I think sports Rolexes look best on the OE bracelet and mesh looks best on lugless watches

I have a shark mesh bracelet. And I have a 14060M. And while I would not normally think of putting the two together, your picture looks so good that I am filing the combo away in the back of my mind as a "must try someday".

My thoughts exactly because it looks untidy around the springbar. If I had the head only I would fit a Rubberb as the non Rolex option.

I agree it looks untidy around the springbar. I don't like the way that last loop on the left seems to drop away.

Never been a big fan of rubber, but thanks for the suggestion.

Now that is lovely. Not too keen about the Sub on a mesh though.

Like it - the more divers I am seeing on mesh, the more I want to try it on my FF chrono for two weeks away in Thailand next month. The sailcloth will be stinking after that and I don't like the OEM bracelet...

As much as I like NATOs and leather straps, that's what keeps driving me back to bracelets: not worrying about getting them wet, especially since the place I live can get pretty tropical in summer.

Doesn't work at all for me.

I suppose it's handy if you constantly want to check the model & serial number engraved on the unfinished bit of the case between the lugs

I am a big fan of mesh. It looks ace, good choice....
To be honest I get sick of seeing these watches on well dodgy NATO straps.

Agree with a few others, looks better than expected.

Think it might look better on a brushed mesh though...

I'm afraid it looks completely wrong to my eye. It's not that I don't like mesh, just not on that watch, and equally not on a Damasko as suggested earlier.

Just awful - nearly as bad as putting a 5513 on leather.

It is brushed, actually. For some reason it looks a lot shinier in the picture.

Oyster, Oyster, Oyster. I've tried different looks but the Oyster is the classiest bracelet ever (IMHO), the PO 42mm Bracelet is close second. Mesh is for Plops!

At least it's only a short walk to pop it straight in the wheelie bin.

Joking .. joking ... it looks OK to me. :-)

If you want an oyster bracelet for it then get a replica bracelet. I can hear everyone gasp from here however I did some research when I needed one for my 16800. Not willing to pay the ridiculous €1000 that Rolex charge I bought 3 from a guy called TC of TC Submariner. Google it.
They are fantastic bracelets with the correct hollow central links. I've got the v3 versions which I think were around $55 each. The only downside is that they have solid end links for the later Sub's.
    Here's mine on it,
