I don't believe it's being discontinued... but being 'updated' with the newer movement (and some small dial/hand changes).
Seem to have a little itch starting have owned an 031 for sometime now, purchased an 007 from SC
& fitted a Wjeans solid bracelet really pleased.
Now heres the question, do I need an Orange or Black monster to complete the set as I have
read the monster range is being discontinued.
Thoughts anyone ??

Panic ye not, as there is a whole new range of Monsters just out.
More colour combinations to choose from, but still keeping orange and black
Just ordered a Black. My first watch since joining the forum, and it will be only the second watch I have that functions. I thought the new one might not have the same level of discount, and hey if it does there's alway the orange to buy, and possibly red, blue...
See this, http://www.thewatchsite.com/index.ph...c,34714.0.html, thread on SCWF. I posted this info in the thread yesterday:
SRP307K1 - black dial, SS bracelet
SRP309K1 - orange dial, SS bracelet
SRP311K1 - orange/black fade dial, SS bracelet, PVD black
SRP313K1 - black dial with redorange trim markers, rubber strap
SRP315K1 - orange dial with black chapter ring, rubber strap
The movement is the 4R36.

**edit**
Apparently the trim/border on the markers on the SRP313 is red, not orange.

when I bought my monsters, I couldn't make my mind up between black or orange, so to be honest I got both, and am pleased I did!
I used Creation http://www.creationwatches.com/produ...watch-711.html
They turned up within a few days, well packaged, and I didn't have to pay import duty.
My Black Monster (and first watch as an enthusiast) is currently in FedEx's hand in Singapore also from Creatiion. I can hardly wait! Does everyone remember their first one; is it a keeper or just a first flip?
I think I'll post that question on the forum, although no doubt it's been asked before.
I remember my first Seiko Monster - it was an Orange one bought from Red Steve of this very parish, and lasted about six weeks before being moved on. However, it now has been replaced with another Orange one which Mrs Bond bought for me, also from Creation - and they put on the customs form that it was a measuring device, which I thought was quite creative
the orange monster was the first seiko i bought new and it was at first sight....
ive had about ten over the years.....5 or 6 standard and the others modded
Snow Monster? It's certainly nice. Anyone know how much this sort of modding would cost?
I've had a few monsters this was my favourite
Bob Thayers Ice Monster is by far the best white one IMHO
The original Orange Monster still gets my vote
From the new ones the SRP315K1 is the best, many mods have been made to get that dial look and it looks like Seiko may have noticed, the black bezel is very good too.
