Whats the spec, I cant imagine it was cheap from CC
It's leggy (125k) and comfort seats, but good history and drc replaced with KW. CC always seem cheap to me? With fees and cost to collect it still owes me under 10k.

Can't see them getting any cheaper. Look at the price of b5's now!

I traded mine in for only 13k in 2020, which was pretty depressing. I believed they would reach classic status sooner as were so well regarded when new, naturally aspirated, manual, etc., but seem to be a bit forgotten. In the four years I had it it was overall really trouble free. It needed a carbon clan quite badly when I got it at around 40k miles, and the usual vacuum leaks sorted, but aside from that the only issue is the very common one of the front Brembos being a very poor design and would develop vibration no matter what I did. It really could do with better discs. For an NA car it also responded quite well to a remap which raised the rev limit to 8400 and 430-ish BHP (from actual 400-ish, as the claimed 414 was optimistic).

Watched the video that Chris put up. Love things like this. I have to admit I was quite sceptical when CC came about but it does seem to be a great place to buy and sell.

A good friend of mine has just bought a 911 C4S Cabriolet from CC. Loads of history in the description, and a ton of photos. He hasn't yet found anything on the car other than as described. It was a decent price too.

Can't believe I've got my perfect 2 car garage for less than the price of a 5 year old golf R. Starting to think that the mid naughties was the zenith for cars for me.

Are the 9 feet walls and razor wire part of the insurance requirements?

Great combo, I've often toyed with the idea of an RS4. Paired my 996 with an XC90 for even more practicality but a lot less fun!

Isnt it just a selling platform so same risks as with any other?

They don't rely on volume. Buyer beware of course, but many of the cars listed have very comprehensive histories included in the particulars. I can only speak to my friend's experience.

Some herbert, driving a van he was not used to, managed to swipe off the front bumper of our old 2011 Superb the other week, pulling into a parking space.
    Right outside our front door.
He was good enough to stop and knock on the door, so his insurance stumped up, no issue.
The surprise was that our old faithful was "beyond economic repair". After some negotiations, we realised that although we probably couldn't get a direct replacement of what we had, for the money, our old girl was beginning to creak at the seams, so we settled on a sum.
And then went looking for a replacement, which we just got last week.
So we now have a much later Superb, the 2 litre TSI 4x4 Sportline.
It's lovely. Really is. The 270 hp is enough to get you going pretty quickly, but in normal settings it wafts along effortlessly, and the mpg is pretty good if you stay off the loud pedal.
And I like the way that (in normal mode) you have to prod that pedal pretty hard to get it to really react. But when it does, it goes.
Steering is ever-so-slightly remote. But you could cross continents in it with ease.
And being a Superb, 4 of you with shedloads of luggage could all make the trip in comfort.
This will probably be our last large family car (kids are 17 and 16, and we keep cars for a long time), and so far it is doing the job very well.

I gave the 930 a lot of attention recently with all new exhaust (manifolds, all associated turbo and wastegate piping, and backbox) and turbo rebuild. It wasn't lacking before, but wow is it epic now. It always surprises passengers as that turbo packs quite a kick. Now it spools quicker and breathes better, so it's really quite something. Hard to judge, but it had about 330bhp before so without taking it on the rolling road I'd guess maybe another 20-ish. It's noticeable.

Now is time for the 997 to get some love, so I've booked it in for new exhaust (again, the full thing), performance clutch and a custom setup on a rolling road. We're targeting 600-620 BHP, around 530-540 WHP, and something over 800NM torque. I actually didn't really care for the extra power, but I did want a new exhaust to improve the sound, so a tune to match it makes sense, however once we started discussing it I got pretty excite about the potential. It's just Stage 1-ish, so the car will otherwise stay standard.

I've had both about 4 years now and can't imagine ever not having them.

And with any luck, sometime very soon, this

And I did have this until recently. There was a small crossover with the A6

Great car. I had the 2017 sportline diesel (190hp) 4x4 and it put a smile on my face every time I drove it. Exchanged it for an Enyaq IV80x and while it is a decent car it just doesn’t make me smile the same way. When or if they announce an electric superb or similar size estate I’m signing up.

I'm planning to build a bed in my 2016 Sprinter camper van myself and could really use some ideas and construction plans. I'm looking for a design that's both functional and space-efficient, ideally with some storage options underneath. If anyone has experience with this or any tips, suggestions, or detailed plans, I would greatly appreciate your help.

I'm open to various designs, whether it's a fixed bed, a fold-out bed, or even a convertible option. Any advice on materials, tools, or techniques that have worked well for you would be fantastic.

I found a website with some van bed frame plans and would love to hear your thoughts and any advice you might have. Photos of your setups would be incredibly helpful too!

I acquired this GT4RS recently- in PTS NATO Olive.
The ride quality on bumpy roads is awful and the cabin noise is ridiculously loud.
However, it goes around a corner like no other car Ive ever driven, its phenomenally engaging and fast.

We have two children both under 2 yrs old subsequently my Mrs seems to think I should have better things to spend my (our) money on than cars - so my previous GT cars have gone however I still have the 993.
To be fair the 4RS has been a revelation- it makes the standard GT4 feel very slow and surprisingly its even on another level compared to the 991.2 GT3RS in terms of exciting visceral engagement . Just a shame the cabin noise is ridiculous and the ride quality on crap roads appalling- but you cant have it all.

That is an accolade in itself making the GT4 feel slow & being up a level on the GT3RS is amazing. Id read a few reviews on the 4RS and it is my current dream car - maybe GT7 will add it & can drive it in VR with my wheel; about as close as I can get!

Is it engine or road noise in the cabin, or just a combination of both through reduced sound deadening materials?

Brilliant colour choice by the way, it just suits the car and its aggression perfectly. Had you seen that colour before in real life, as a brave choice if not as could have been the wrong shade?

The cabin noise at low rev range is really not that bad and perfectly tolerablebut when you absolutely floor it to around 9000 rpm the noise is just mental - due to the air intake ducts right behind your head along with the screaming engine.
That said you do forgive it such negatives because its what you signed up for. Its a proper track car or Sunday morning blast -

Id been looking for ages for a used 4RS - but they were virtually all standard colours..I didnt want to spend this dollar for a boring spec car.I informed several OPC sales folk that I was after a PTS colour and eventually got a call when this NATO Olive car was taken in as a trade in. Only 3 months old car, I immediately bought it before it went on the OPC website. Id never seen NATO Olive in the flesh before but knew Id like it.its not as nice as Irish green but a close second. Apparently its the only nato Olive 4rs in the U.K. so I hope it will hold its value slightly better than some cars.

Hey of course the spider will make it I until recently had a 949 spider could get it as low as 14 mpg and about 3000 a year for parts , but hey as clarkson once said the greatest badge ever and dont forget most series collectors would sell everything for a P3 Tipo B .

Very good call on the colour, and these cars are meant to stand out. I do love my GT Silver on my CGTS but would never have paid the premium on new, and gone a little more exciting.

Id forgotten those air intakes too!

Well after a couple of decades of having a weekend car in the garage, we've been a 2 car family for a while now and my car life has been boring. Like Volvo boring. But had to pay for a loft conversion so needs must.

But after 7 years of our xc60 i had well and truly grown tired of it. Can't fault it as a family wagon but it's not even remotely fun.

I had tried to justify keeping it and getting a 3rd car but that dream was killed by my low overall mileage (i cycle to work or WFH) so it needed to be replaced.

My wife's i3 is brilliant for kicking about town but not suitable as a family car and I'd have to prise it from my wife's cold dead hands as she adores it.

So i needed a fun family car.

    Here was my requirements;
    - Sub 20k
    - Fun when needed but can also take 2 kids, wife and bikes to inverness regularly
    - Can fit a tow bar (ideally)
    - LEZ compliant
    - Reliable and newish as it sits doing f all 5 days a week and then is pressed into service for the other 2
    - Needs to be subtle as it's on the street but unusual enough to make me care about it
    - Manual and petrol

It's not as fun as my old evora or m2 and not GT4 RS level but for us, right now it's a bloody brilliant compromise. Very happy.

    Brilliant!

I looked at these when we were in the market for a new family car but the wife said she " couldn't drive something like that" so the dream was shattered. Ended up with a safe Mazda 3.

I've never driven a Ford but the Focus is meant to be good drive.

My wife would be happier with another volvo or similar SUV but since we got the i3 she never drives my car so i was able to persuade her. She's just not a fan of estates. although she has conceded that it's quite nice to be in.

I think the focus st hatch is marginally nicer than the estate, but generally i think estates are nicer and rarer to boot. The looks of the ST has really grown on me since i bought it though.

There are only 17 manual ST estates on autotrader just now

I'm looking for an estate to replace an overly thirsty Hilux and particulalrly like the look of these. Which engine variant did you go for? Any thoughts on longer-term engine reliability - from research I mean, obviously you've not had the car long!

Mine is the 2.3 4 pot turbo - basically a detuned previous gen RS engine so should be pretty sound reliability wise, also in the mustang and a few others. Couldn't find any worries about reliability as they seem to have fixed the head gasket on the RS block.

The other thing i love about buying fords is that the parts are usually cheap and easy to get hold of. Not sure it's the engine i'd buy if "not thirsty" is on the wish list - i can get mid 30s on a run but i've also seen low 20s.

Nice - bit of a Q-car in that colour too! But yeah, sadly not the engine model I have in mind at-all - the vast majority are ST-Line with the 1.0 or 1.5 three-cylinder Fox engines - which is the smaller, shallower pond I'm fishing in! Big recall underway in the US for failing oil pump belts and belt-tensioners, but needless to say this side of the Whale Road is staying schtumm... May not even be a problem here, but finding anything definitive out is less than easy.

    Anyway - Enjoy!

I'm looking to change my Audi A4 Avant Black Edition early next year and fancy rhe new ST. Had the previous ST3 before the Audi and loved it. The Audi is a great car but so boring, even in sports mode and using flappy paddles. Wife has different ideas though as she says the ST is a chavs car and I should stick with another Audi (I'm 47😁). Told her I'd have to go for the S4 Avant or the RS4 Avant then, and the costs that come with them😉

I keep looking at s4 avant to replace my 2012 s3, though there is nothing wrong with it. The only thing that really puts me off apart from the cost of actually buying the s4 is the running costs. If something does go wrong I'm lead to believe it's generally an engine out job as its packed in there so they're pricey to fix. Also I want something that has an actual spare wheel which seems to be unusual these days.

I had the A4 40 Black edition about 2 years ago.
    Boring and poor handling.
It's no wonder they discount them so much.
    Looked quite nice though.

Recent photo, me and my 2002 Volvo V70 2.4L petrol. The load carrier is very roomy and very comfortable. Coming up to 55K miles; I'm the second owner and was on SORN for 6 years in a heated garage before purchase. Required a new alternator recently.

I've never driven a Ford but the Focus is meant to be good drive.
My wife wont let me near our bright mean green Fiesta ST since she discovered quite how well it goes round corners. I made the mistake of pointing out the sport mode button and now it crackles and pops on the way to the shops. Shes a normally demure 59 year old who doesnt really fit most peoples image of an ST driver but certainly knows how to drive a little hatchback. One of the things that attracted me to her over 30 years ago tbh!

Good condition for its year Jon; paintwork scuffs professionally remedied; bumpers require attention. i.e., heat gun and boiled linseed oil to remedy 'greying'. BW, dunk

Try a good quality boot black polish & soft brush - very quick & very effective.

Many people told me i should have got the Skoda VRS as it's "more classy" but i'm really happy with my choice - it's quite subtle iMHO

Had a pretty nice track day last weekend, now I'm itching to get to more trackdays again! Super fun, nice people to chat with between the drives and good food. The car is so capable on track.

Or try something like this, a cracking modern & permanent solution.

Hadnt heard of the boiled linseed approach before, know smooth peanut butter is meant to work too, but not permanent.
