Like the Eterna. And original choice and proper class.

I should wait a bit to put some space between mine and RAJEN's.

The empty space should be filled next week when my Dad's 1600 Datejust comes back from its makeover.

Thanks. If the site I just visited is correct, it's the 633 7491 4164 LS, a.k.a. the Big Crown Commander. It was my first "real" watch, inspired by a magazine article by William Gibson about his watch and eBay obsession. I linked to the article in a thread a few weeks ago.

I like it, but it's tiny, something like 33 or 34mm. Here's a better picture:

My 2013 year end collection is still work in progress - below is roughly where I started the year and my plan is to be down to just 4 before I do another SOTC. 6 watches left to sell to reach that target.....

BTW I love the look of Rajen's collection.

As much as I love the mitsukoshi dial Speedy, you already have the standard Speedy Pro. I'd swap that for a Blue Seamaster Pro Bond, then, you'd have every undisputed watch icon, ever...

I'll post mine after Tuesday - picking up 2 significant pieces and losing one 'keeper'.

That will then be the core for some time, apparently I can have a Patek next year if I'm good...

If I maybe so bold - These ones are still up for grabs on SC - just click the individual links for the Sales Corner post - a collection in it's own right ????

I would say that's a perfect collection. All the classics are in there, and there's a watch for every occasion. Congratulations.

That's most kind of you, but I can't seem to shake the need for something gold. I would probably have to sacrifice the Speedy 35th to make it happen though. Decisions, decisions...

Looking at the other collections I feel a lot like a comic book geek flipping through the bins at a comic book store: "Got it, got it, need it, got it, need it, need it, got it, need it, got it, got it, got it, need it, got it..."

Wow, some seriously spectacular collections! Keep 'em coming, so I can show my wife I can buy a dozen more watches and still have an extremely humble collection. :)

I went through that process too. As the number of smaller boxes increased, & the problem of finding places to put them, I thought a '48' box should future proof me. And building the store into a piece of furniture would solve the placing issue.....

.......there's now an overflow box on top......

    Cheers
