Great save - not ideal but a clasp extender would work in the interim
Phew! - got there! - took a lot of shaking but eventually the second hand moves 30 secs when I press the power reserve button. Poor thing had been forgotten about for over 5 years so I thought the rechargeable battery may not be able to be resuscitated but it's now ticking way like a champ.
I initially tried the old Braun toothbrush charger trick but while that got the second hand doing the two second skip it never got any further, even after 4 days. My theory is that the Braun was giving it enough power to get it moving but not enough to charge the battery as well - so lots of shaking ensued.
Now it's running I want to wear it but the reason why it was put away in its box and forgotten about for so long is it's too tight for my wrist - it's nearly there but too tight for comfort. If anyone has spare links with collars & pins for this watch that they could part with please contact me.

Yes, I've got a clasp extender on another watch horrible thing that it is. It would be ok temporarily but I don't think they are that safe as the spring bar ends have to poke through two bits of metal - the extender and the clasp so unless the spring bar has very long ends it's holding on by a wing and a prayer.
I have the Pepsi version. Used to be my daily driver. But now dead as doornail. Can just about get the hand moving, but far too frustrating. Also tried the toothbrush charger trick to no avail

Just remembered, I have genuine Seiko rubber strap for this model. Your welcome to it if you want it

:)
Many thanks Linc.
BFKs are really excellent and much under-rated.
Superb legibility and quality bracelets and of course great (quartz) timekeeping.
And the date wheel is the right colour.
I use a toothbrush charger to keep mine topped up but setting at the correct angle is critical.
