I’ve been collecting watches since 2009, starting with affordables (my first watch after getting into watches was an Orient Mako) and buying and selling hundreds of pieces over the last 12 years. My wrist is about 6.25” so I’ve always had an upper size limit of 50mm lug to lug.
I’ve owned and enjoyed a number of watches at the top end of my size limit, but what I’ve come to realise over time is that I much prefer smaller pieces. 36mm diameter is my absolute sweet spot, but even then lug length is important. I loved my Nomos Club but flipped it because the lug to lug was just too long.
After lots of experimentation I think I’ve reached the end of my journey (famous last words, I know). I’ve ended up with a core collection of 10 watches which I love. All are between 35 and 38mm.

Lovely collection. I’ve owned three of those watches and considered two others. Perfect sizes as well, at least for me.
It is funny how we measure wrist sizes in inches and case sizes in mm. I am a 6.75” wrist, and most of my watches are 40-41mm. I have a Nomos Orion, which is 51mm lug to lug, and it is about the limit size wise for me.
Nice collection! I have 3 of your 10 currently and I also owned a 36mm Nomos Club.

Very nice collection. Great to see an old Seamaster midsize. The automatic version was my first ‘proper’ watch almost 25 years ago. I sold it 10 years or so ago, to ‘upgrade’ to a coaxial. Of all of the watches that I have moved on over the years, that is the one that I regret the most, probably.

A fine and well rounded assortment. I think you've inspired me to down size and consolidate, I rarely wear at least half of my watches.
I just measured, my BB58 is 47mm lug to lug. FWIW, it also wears smaller on a strap compared to the bracelet.
Nice varied collection. Just like you I've consolidated my collection down, in my case to 6 pieces. Had too many watches that I rarely wore and most recently was caught up in the hype surrounding a couple of watches so I moved them on while I could still break even.
All of the pieces I sold on were over 40mm size. I've come to realise that the sweet spot for me is 36-39mm depending on the lug to lug & things such as dial to bezel ratio.

I think sub 40mm is the sweet spot for most people but generally it's just great to have so many options available, in such a range of sizes.
I particularly like the Captain Cook, and if they bring over the applied indices of the ceramic version to the standard line, I think it'd be the diver of choice for me.
