I ordered mine from Gizmo Outlets on eBay. Few people on here advised they were OK. Price was good, and apparently they send to their uk warehouse before forwarding on to you, so no import tax like Creation.

I ordered from gizmo too. The race is on to see who gets the first one in the post :-)

Haha, may the best man win 👍

Gizmo was by far the best price I could find.

I'd seen someone else's on the forum and it's the perfect match IMHO.

Looks amazing. I have the same strap, The colour is great and - without owning shares - the straps are very comfortable.

I am loving this watch. My wife will think I am mad if I get another within days of my last, but this is a stunner.

Just had a message confirming mine has been dispatched. eBay says 4th Jan estimated delivery date 😳 but Royal Mail tracking number says its on its way. I'll be checking the tracking update every couple of hours now til it arrives 😂

Mine is showing as dispatched on eBay but Royal mail tracking have it marked as 'We're expecting it'. Not sure what that means.

Hi, picked it up from my neighbours house en route to the pub. First impressions are the watch is beautiful. I've set the correct time & date and the mechanism is ver smooth. The dial is just as stunning in the flesh as in the pics. It looks so elegant, yet functional. Is actually bigger looking than I expected having read people say it wears small. I have 6.5 inch wrists. The strap however is poor, no flex whatsoever it keeps sliding around on my wrist bone, will need to swap it ASAP to properly enjoy this watch. For those awaiting theirs you will definitely not be disappointed, it's beautiful, but have a replacement strap at the ready! Here's some pics (from the boozer!).

Glad you liked it! Fantastic watch and two classics you’ve got.
What strap are you thinking for the Alpinist?
    Enjoy ;)

Cheers! I'll certainly be enjoying them both. Going clay pigeon shooting tomorrow so will be wearing the Alpinist! Not sure about the strap mate, I think the darkish brown colour compliments it well, just need soemthing more supple and higher quality - I'll be scouring the net later for options! Will post here when I get it sorted 👍

Tried a LOT of straps on the Alpinist, but finally settled on the Hirsch Grand Duke which, is a much richer brown that the photos and really compliments the watch. Bonus: it's 100m water resistant (so it's claimed and who am I to argue?).

Hirsch performance james in dark brown is a great match, waterproof too. But anything Hirsch will be a massive improvement.

I do a fair bit of shooting, but I don't usually wear a mechanical watch, I suppose I am overdoing the paranoia about the shock! I usually put on a CWC G10

Some better pics of my colareb strap as wristshots show just a tiny bit. Very comfortable leather as well.

Nice shots Glen, as I’ve said the strap gets better with age as it inherits marks.
The only thing I found was the buckle could have been better but I swapped mine.
    Enjoy.

The alpinist is one for the seiko purists . and the cream face version of this watch is simply the best ,

The cream version is superb, I've never been able to buy one at anything like a reasonable price though. Did pick up the 015 black version, but didn't get on with it, if it had the same hands and indices as the 013 and 017 I think it would have been a different story.

I've seen the cream one but not the black version. I do have a lot of black faced watches but this will be my first green one :-)

Thanks for the model number. I really do like the look of the black version. Just wondered why they used different hands on the black model?

Also just realized the date window is in a different place too.

Just Seiko mixing it up I suppose, but the cathedral hands and numbered indices as on the 013 and 017 would have been much better in my opinion. Still think they have the best case design and polishing available below £300 (new that is, 013's have soared way above that now).

Thanks Chaps. Here's another, bit smaller image. Not sure where the bigger one has got to. I think I paid about a couple of hundred quid or so for it, (a wee while ago now), and was lucky not to get stung by customs if I recall correctly. What are these trading for these days then?.. (Not that I'm selling - more of a hoarder, me!)

With everyone receiving fresh new green alpinists. Would like to hear your thoughts if AR coating would help the dial visibility. When tilted just right the green is amazing and I would like more of that of possible.

I've been down the SARB017 route earlier on my WIS road a few years ago and can't fathom why I let it go for such a paltry sum, it was a lovely watch.

I came across this variant around then which whilst not an auto rather a HAQ GMT in Ti.

I was just at the cusp of needing reading glasses at the time so I let it go...

    Excuse the crude photos please.
