Thread: TV shows from the 70's and 80's that you wish were repeated...

  1. #1

Red face TV shows from the 70's and 80's that you wish were repeated...

Even if now they might be a bit naff or dated. :)

    For me:

Voyage to the bottom of the sea
    Man from Atlantis
    Blakes 7
    Space 1999
    Joe 90
    Six million dollar man
    Time tunnel (?)
    Airwolf

You can find many of these online if you look.

Anyone remember "Tales of the Golden Monkey"?

The Six Million Dollar Man was pretty good, there have been rumours of a mega-budget reboot movie (the series was based on the book Cyborg) for years.

    Hawaii Five-0 was always cool.

Chips was quite good as I recall.

I liked The Fall Guy, and Buck Rogers, and Battlestar Galactica (the rebooted series was some of the finest television ever made in my opinion).

    Manimal and StreetHawk stank though.
So clever my foot fell off.

Yep - 'Monkey' was excellent, as was 'The Water Margin'! :)

    Agree with all the above.

  4. #4
I’ve just re-watched ‘The One Game’ on DVD. A lost gem.

Curiously, a couple of nights ago I watched a black and white film from 1949 on the Classic Movies channel about the French revolution with Richard Basehart playing Robespierre! I kept thinking, that's Admiral Nelson from the Seaview that is.

I've a vague recollection of this as a kid but after googling it just all the memories came flooding back. It was a really good show, as a kid

Agree with all the above apart from the reboot Galactica, never got on with that

    Manimal and StreetHawk stank though.

At this point I'm going to have to ask you outside for a fight . Next you'll be saying Automan was crap!

A lot being mentioned are currently repeated on the lesser-known channels like Dave and ForcesTV

I've watched Airwolf, Battlestar, Dukes, and Knightrider all in the past couple months.

Was Tour of Duty on in the 80s? I used to watch that religiously but can't seem to find it anywhere these days.

Just Good Friends I really liked.

Rising Damp I only watched when I was older.

But Laurel and Hardy was my favourite.

All of those shows have been televised recently or are still on cable channels with the exception of Public Eye which starts on TPTV tomorrow night at 8pm - looking forward to it.
    Cheers,

Around 1989/1990 I think. I used to get back from the pub in time to watch it and WWF.

Children of the Stones. Scared me utterly crap less like pretty much nothing since, the music was particularly eerie as well. Had flashbacks when I visited Avebury as an adult decades later...

I bought the DVD boxset of Hardcastle and McCormick. I couldn't even bear to watch one episode. The same with Automan.

    You can't go back.

Though I do enjoy Buck Rogers still. Wilma Deering. Gnnnnn.
