    PAMP SUISSE movement

Anyone know what movement is used in a Pamp Suisse watch.
Cannot seem to find much info on these.

    Thanks,
I will see if I can get a better shot of the numbers. You would think it's a decent quality though given the cost?

Very solid, it's a fair lump with quite a few stones.
I'll see if I can get a picture of the dial.

Looks like a ETA to me. What functions does the watch have?
Chronograph - edit - can’t be a chrono there are no buttons.
    Date
    Day date
It will help narrow down the possibilities.

I would have thought a watch like this would be worth its weight in scrap only. How much is it being offered for and how much gold is there?

LOL, you have a point, not my bag either.
Just mindset of scrapping something that isn't broken.
I suppose it would make a few nice bits of jewellery.

It scraps at close to £4K just for the gold. You could buy a gold Datejust for that. Is it yours?

No, I could buy it and I suppose if you get it at scrap value you cannot go wrong (unless gold nose dives!)
I also assume that the value of the stones depends massively on quality.

I am still intreged by it though. Must have cost a mint new and would it have been made specifically for someone, not many Pamp Suisse watches when I've looked on internet.
You would have also thought they would have put a quality movement in it at that kind of money.

I would be careful if I was you. Who did the gold weight calculation? What’s the asking price?

It's a friend and to be fair he's only looking for a little over the scrap gold price.
I did think for a little while getting it for the Mrs!

The weights are from the jeweller it was purchased from.
Never worn it and it's just sat in a draw so may as well go towards something that would be worn.

Think I'll advise just to take to the local pawn shop, just trying to help out and get some info for him as like I say not alot on net regarding these.

    Thanks for the advice.

Don't go to a pawn shop and sell as scrap as you will get a lot less. I would go to a gold buyer like hatton garden metals and I can personally recommend them.

I've just looked and Hatton garden metals will pay £4198.11 for the gold at current prices

    Thanks for the heads up.
Not a bad price to be fair plus the diamonds must be worth something.
    I will recommend these.
    Thanks again.
