OP - Curious, what was the timeline from start to finish of the issue?

I may be wrong but then I never did understand the attraction of soap opera.
I wish people who either do not visit often or have a short memory read the thread and followed the links as the OP has previous, which is why flouncing again did not go down well. Add to that, he may not be aware of who was offering help, but there are probably very few people in this country who could have stepped in with a better expertise. So on top of being repeatedly rude to the owner of this forum and to the members offering help in the past and here, he made himself look like an idiot.
He is perfectly entitled to be massively upset, and despite calling the forum a cesspit come back asking for help; Not so much to dismiss said help when it doesn't sing to his tune, even more so when it's done so aggressively.
If it hadn't been for the origin of the problem being down to a mistake, the same person who did the enquiry would be vilified and he would have lost his watch. All this confirms HM's second post when he said:
This is definitely a case where the full facts need to be known before a conclusion reached.

I'm surprised this has been resolved in the OP's favour. My faith in "you reap what you sow" has been somewhat shaken.

apparently in the past a 'jeweller' doing a valuation entered the wrong watch ref number and somehow my watch had been reported to rolex as stolen

Kevin i understand has spoken to Rolex and corrected the error - the watch is now legally mine again

    thanks for all comments/input
    Good result.

    facts

there will be no apologies from me because i was right from the start despite quasi legal opinions from a certain person

btw said persons opinion was described as bluster by my 'legal team'

i have spoken to my 'legal team' and my insurance broker

if i had not been a bit anal and retained the original purchase receipt and the Rolex warranty card confirming the watch serial number and date of service i could well have 'lost' my watch

as to the pack of wolves hounding me - simply 'do one 'as they say, lol

as to time spent on this forum - do the number of posts give a person more validity?

but to save your time i will never again grace this hallowed place!

Serial number is on the watch case and Rolex can confirm the last service. Glad though it all worked out for you in the end.

Bitter with a massive lack of self awareness and humility is all that this thread says to me about the OP. There really was no need for any aggressiveness to dial up to 100 straight away just because a knowledgable and honest person gave you some sensible advice on how to proceed rather than agreeing with your wish to jump straight into legal threats etc. Clearly you didn’t want advice but just for people to tell you you were right to hoist your pitchfork and light your torch!

Shame your ego is too big to be able to swallow your pride and say sorry!

I am glad it has worked out but a slightly different attitude and less aggressive mindset would not have led to such a bitter thread and your second flounce from the Forum…until you next ‘need’ some validation!

What an unreflected way of looking at this unfortunate episode. Unfortunately I have zero confidence that you will do what you say and never come back.

    Why?

Because you already flounced in 2021 and came back when you needed cheap advice:

No, number of posts doesn’t in any way give the person more validity, completely the opposite in some cases. But quality of posts and extensive knowledge does. I find it interesting that HM seemed to know the outcome of this case before you decided to update us, it’s almost as though he took the time to investigate it on your behalf despite the way you acted. That says a lot more about him than your posts say about you.

"Dear [regional police force] / [prosecuting barrister] / [POCA recovery team] / [insurance company] / [other government agency] / [receiver]

Thankyou for your instruction to assist in the matter of [ case ref ].

While it has been my pleasure to assist previously, it is with great regret that I can be of no further service.

While I have worked for decades in this field, educated or lectured significant stakeholders and never been defeated in a case that has proceeded to court, an anonymous and slightly abrasive gentleman on the internet has told me that his legal team (which I don't consider for a moment to be a thing of fantasy) have described my latest submission as mere "bluster." Strangely, they did not identify a single, individual element of it that was incorrect, but that may not be important.

Any further enquiries regarding matters of title relating to watches reported as lost or stolen should be directed to the above at Throbbyn-Cox, whose previously unknown specialists in this field might be able to assist.

It has been my pleasure to serve....etc"

    Absolute fish-food.

You did not lose it for the simple reason that the watch identified as stolen turned out not to be your watch.

If your legal team and insurance broker told you otherwise, perhaps they would like to get in touch with me for some free guidance.

Whether you were right or not has nothing to do with the way you behaved to people who tried to assist you.

You were just incredibly rude to these people which goes against the ethos of this forum (and good manners), I just hope you have not deterred any posters from offering advice/assistance to other members in the future.

Jesus,I’ve only skirted through the thread, but what a horrible and abrasive manner the OP has( which is stating the obvious)

I can almost understand the knee jerk reaction, and initial rudeness when he thought he might be losing his watch, but even after it’s been sorted continues with the attitude.

    Good bye and good riddance.

You asked for help and one of the most highly respected experts in this field proffered his opinion (and probably assistance behind the scenes) and yet you still continue your one man crusade to discredit him?

Is having a legal team the same as having your own Authorised Dealer, in which you give the impression to complete strangers that you actually own and have full control of them.

Yes, when I read someone is consulting their "legal team", I always imagine them scurrying off to the UKLegalAdvice reddit sub. Exactly the same as "my watchmaker" meaning H Samuels.

Looks like this knacker got banned after his initial spat with Haywood in 2018, how did he get back in to bore folk to death with utensil threads then make this car crash of a post?

There was a post many years ago on here about a footballer who sold on a few watches.
He waited a year and then put an insurance claim in for them.

It was s dealer who made the post
Marksh springs Ito mind but might be totally wrong.
