Please note that the bank transfer will not secure this as a set price should the piece undergo any price adjustments in the future.
What’s the total cost? Seems to me that if I wire them so much, then that locks it in as a purchase at the price at time of wire transfer. “If the price goes up before you can come in to collect your watch, you have to pay us more” sounds like highway robbery to me when you wired in over 2000 quid.

It would be the additional uplift for a price increase. You may be right it might not be in accordance with sale of goods act or whatever else but what choice do you have. The warranty card Rolex issue is the same. People can vote with their feet if they like and not get the watches they want.

    Hi.

I got my Tudor Harrods last weekend. Number 13xx.
Is it still a special edition if they produce 5.000 watches ?

What the purpose of the waiting list ?

What is the interest for the watch collector ?

It is just a green watch...anymore...

    Imo.

Yes it is, as it's only produced for Harrods.

I couldn't care less if they make 10 or 100,000 they look great to me, they look similar colour to the original LV, and I think one would make a great weekly wearer 😀

The purpose of the waiting list is that they don't have the watches in stock, and then those who order and reserve can come and get one - if they want to.
It's just a matter of time...

I think the Black Bay GMT has over taken it now for popularity, big demand from overseas for The Harrods BB which is nice

Yeh I waited almost a year for mine, but if you call them you can normally hurry things up. They don’t seem too well organised.

Tell me about it, just did a car boot sale a month ago with stuff she discarded. Must have had around 1000 items!

Keep telling her buy a handful of good items that will last long and won’t just drop in value, but finding it hard to get that message across !

I got the same problem. We have to educate them. What a shame.

I got her a L V bag because I was desperarate about her bags.
I got her a Lexus IS because I was afraid of the new car she was thinking about.
And now, I am thinking about a Rolex datejust to replace her quartz watch.

Maybe, I should get a misstress instead. It could save me same money 😀.

On the other hand, she doesn’t Know about the purchase of the BB Bucherer and the BB Harrods. Well, I forgot to tell about the purchase of the Alfa 4c Spider too.

Finally, I think we are even.

That would still make them rare in comparison to the Hulk and other similarish watches.

Colleague at work came to me this week and said he was thinking about a Submariner for his 40th and he'd been to Goldsmiths/trafford centre and got his name down. We started talking about Rolex > Tudor then the Black bay then showed him the Harrods. he rang them up right then and has been told approx. 6 months but it may be discontinued. List price - £2600 and a interest free credit option of up to 48 months.

There are quite a few of these on eBay and Chrono24 although, surprisingly, they appear to averaging out around £4K or a bit less. If the discontinuation rumours are true then I should imagine pre-owned values of these will rise pretty sharpish. Strange, because I also read that the production run for the Tudor
Bucherer Black Bay had now been extended (appreciating that neither the Harrods or the Bucherer are limited editions) to well into the future (and possibly beyond😊😉) due to pent up demand.

Who knows what to believe these days?

Does anyone know if you're able to put your name on the waiting list over the phone? Or do I need to go in to the boutique? I've tried calling but so far been unable to get through each time I've tried over last couple of weeks. Going in to boutique isnt a problem I just wont be in London for a couple of weeks and I'd rather get my name on the list sooner rather than later.

Thanks for confirming. I tried again just now and went straight through. The run up to xmas is evidently not a good time to try and get through by phone! 1 - 1.5 years wait at present. I can live with that.

    Re black bay harrods edition

I gave in with Harrods. I enquired back in iirc Nov 2017. They said thanks for your enquiry but we are not taking orders atm. I then contacted them in Jan 2018 and got told the waiting list was closed. Rang back in Feb and finally got added to the waiting list which I'm still waiting.

I did try to get an estimate a couple of times to be told they couldn't check on individual lead times but just wait for the call

They don't seem to command too much of a premium (£300-£500). If the wait / AD is annoying you and you really want one it might be worth just stumping up the overs and cutting them out.

Lovely watch, wouldn't mind one myself :)

Sold listings on the bay and Chrono 24 seem to be in the 3.6k bracket so maybe closer to &1k mark up currently

Seems to vary from £3.5k > £4.9k (good luck with the latter!). I'd rather just wait but that's me keeping my money. My colleague just rang them and they took his name now he just waits.

I thought the waiting list was closed.

Seeing this thread again I have just called and had my info took.

Apparently, I should get an email if I have been successfully added to the list.

Buying new watches is such a convoluted process it bewilders me!

Yup, apologies, I was thinking of the GMT!

  35. #735
Popped in this weekend and they are apparently up to 1800 watches now. List is still open with a wait time of 6-12 months which coincides with my own experience.

    Demand/interest is still strong apparently.

There's also a wait for the BB58 and the GMT.

Funny as I was in there yesterday morning. The bloke I spoke to mentioned the huge demand, adding that Harrods will definitely stop selling them at some point and that they could only guarantee having them in for the next 6 months.

Got my email Jan 25th sent a wire payment from the states and I have a friend heading to London 2nd week of February, and he is picking it up for me.

They can’t tell me my exact # until the wire gets to them, but said it’s in the 1500.

I emailed in June of 2018 to be put on the list they said nope.

A friend put me on list 3 months ago when she was in London, and boom got my email 3 months later.

    Well done.
I was in Harrods last month and I know a few guys there.
They said numbers were in the 1900s now, but I know they don’t go out in strict order, which is maybe why this batch has some lower numbers.

I was in Harrods a couple of weeks ago to have my bracelet adjusted. The sales chappy said that they could only guarantee the next 6 month’s supply; therefore I reckon a total of 2,873 will have been made.

    .

I put my name down in October and was told 18months. I sent a chaser email a few days ago and was told that it's still 18 months from October... If they stick to that timeframe then I don't have too much hope!

I think it depends on who you speak to! When I put my name down i was told 18 months as well, however when a friend put their name down days later told it was around 8 months wait but could be as soon as 6months.
