Thanks very much, Simon. It's absolutely beautiful, a perfect size and the answer to my dressy watch needs.

Super pickup - the best VC in the fiftysix range.

Very nice. I saw one on a nearby dealer's page so assumed it went to him. Maybe there were two going with the same dial both 2 weeks old?

Nothing sinister going on. Kash can explain if he wants. I made a cash bid for it, but Tony had something else more tempting. Never mind - Looks good Tony! (Slight envy).

Nothing sinister implied! I follow a local dealer on Instagram and saw it pop up and thought oh well, must have been traded but then saw Tony's picture and got confused. Not something you see everyday so it stood out.

Looks great Tony, very special indeed.

Some of the watches in this thread are as good as anything you'll ever see or own. I've said this for a while now, if I could have any watch in the world it would be Martyn's VC. I'll never own one, not many can at these prices, so I'll simply admire the pure class of the design, materials and finishing from afar.

I prematurely spent my house deposit on a house so that option is out of the window!

A very cool vintage piece my watchmaker had a few years back. I can’t say how old. Maybe 70s?

I'd expect that to be 50s based on the size, case & style but would need to know the movement to tell more.

It really is a stunner and one that despite 893's claim!
I managed to take a bad photo of
Absolutely stunning watch that I'd had my eye on for while, and an absolute gent to deal with.
Thanks for the sale and its off shortly to be serviced and I can hardly bare to take it off.

My 42040 was back from its service this Friday and after a little sympathetic case work too.
I love it even more than when I 1st clapped eyes on it.
In what might be useful info for those here that are based in Ireland.
Had the work carried out by John Donohoe at www.thevintagewatch.net
Great Comms and a I am very happy with the work and the turnaround time.

Cannot remember if this is the main thread on Tz.

Don't think this was posted at the start of the year but VC Warrenty is now 8 years via 2+6. It is fully public information now.

If you are within your 1st 2yrs and the original owner, update your registration so that you receive the extra coverage.

So much for high horology not being a tool watch! Over to you rolex.

That is the best looking version imo, in the chrono as well as your three hander.. I like the textured dial, the hands, the markers and the date at 4:30.
    cracking watch!
