    Hazard's playing like he's applying for the vacancy at Real Madrid

    Two top teams full of top players.

    What odds on Real signing Mbappe, Hazard and Kane?

    France are smothering everything, not allowing Belgium to play and making it all look very easy

    I think any other team in this World Cup would have conceded at LEAST one goal to this Belgium team tonight. Superb defensive effort France.

    He took up loads of good positions but his passing and crossing was awful.

    An excellent team performance from France and congratulations to them on reaching the final.

    Maybe, but Belgium lacked in and around the box. Composure and sharpness just wasn't there.

    True but they said the same about Suarez and co, they couldn’t score v France either. They are a truly excellent defensive unit but with real danger up front too. Be worthy finalists imho

    I thought French defence was very fortunate 1st half-a wild sliced clearance which could have went in and several missed interceptions.The loose balls didn’t fall for Belgium tonight. Nowt between the teams. Kompany was outstanding as was Courtois.

    Any of the 3 remaining teams can win this. Although I'd say Croatia peaked far too early in the tournament. They've clung on in last 2 games.

    Well done France. Nothing special going forward but an excellent defensive effort.

    Which now begs the next question.

    Is it better to beat Croatia, but then lose to France in the Final. Massive disappointment and national shame.

    Or, lose to Croatia (slightly less disappointment) but beat Belgium in the play off and finish on a high?

    Obviously winning the next 2 games is a best option but I am still not convinced - which is a good thing.

    Irrespective of the outcome the boys did good.

    Got to think Croatia would need to win in normal time tomorrow due to their last 2 going the distance.
    If they made it to final after another epic they wouldn’t have much left in the tank.

    England should beat Croatia. Croatia have had 2 hard matches and I think England will beat them in 90 minutes but it will be tough.I don't see us beating France though..

    Shakespeare couldn't have put it better.

    Whose limbs were made in England, show us here

    The mettle of your pasture; let us swear

    That you are worth your breeding; which I doubt not;

    For there is none of you so mean and base,

    That hath not noble lustre in your eyes.

    I see you stand like greyhounds in the slips,

    Straining upon the start. The game's afoot:

    Follow your spirit, and upon this charge

    Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'

    “From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be remembered-
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne’er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
    Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”

    Shame its not on St Crispins day - (26th Oct).

    One more, just to "stiffen the sinews"

    “God shall be my hope, my stay, my guide and lantern to my feet.”

    Enjoy the match tomorrow

    This was a classic tight semi and a reason why it's so hard to win three tough games on the bounce.

    Belgium had to comeback against Japan, the high of beating Brazil and needing to get up for this all in basically a week! It's way too much for players. You need an easy game or two.

    It's the reason why I think England can win, two ET in a row is brutal.

  42. #1342
    For me, Belgium looked more organised, more dangerous, than France but didn’t get the breaks. Also saw a lot of what I took to be “mucking about” from the French, falling over, diving, etc. Not a nice spectacle. Would conclude Belgium would have been the least favourable for England, if indeed they are successful tomorrow. We’ll see.

    I hope we win the thing, couldn’t really give a toss about “bringing it back home” but at least winning will mean it’s just cabs, bus shelters and shops that get trashed not the vulnerable.

    Turkish referee, I bet kebab shop owners are getting twitchy in case England get knocked out with a penalty or sending off.
