I didn't see this one coming. They haven't got long to agree on what rules they'll be fighting under. Surely Mayweather wouldn't agree to learn how to defend against someone trying to knee him in the head in just two months?

yep its a surprise bout
Tenshin is quite remarkable his hand speed and force of strike is second to none
Mayweather fit and fast as he is with a great defence is twice Tenshin's age
as you say until rules decided its all a bit hypothetical but I can't see any chance of anything other than 'Queensbury'
Similarly I doubt the kickboxer would relish being destroyed in a Marquis of Queensbury contest. In Muay Thai there are different disciplines, some allow flying knees and elbows but most don’t and only permit standing kicks (one foot planted). I can see this as being a way forward. I can also see the holding and kneeing to the head being omitted.
If the above happens who would win ? Well I think the restrictions would favour Mayweather strongly - you can see the obvious size and height advantage he has. The Japanese fighter’s best bet would imho be to draw it out and use his youth stamina to possibly edge it. Either way I would love to watch the fight.
Can guarantee it will be stand up only. No way mayweather can learn ground game or even defending against a take down in time.

Weird one, can't see Mayweather struggling at this, to use kicks effectively this guy is going to have to get inside Mayweathers reach and at this guys weight/height, Mayweather will be able to hurt him.
I think it'll be a struggle for Mayweather to draw this one out as long as he did with the McGregor fight, he's not interested in going back to boxing, so really just needs to retire from this type of thing, maybe get into promoting it more, bringing guys like this over to the states, or setting stuff up in Asia.
Something not quite right with this one.

If this hapens (which it looks like it wont), the result will follow the pattern of the rules:
Boxing rules - Floyd wins
Kickboxing/MMA rules - Other guy wins
Just like in the McGregor fight - if that had been MMA rules, Floyd would last exactly as long as Conor wanted him to, no more, no less. If this fight goes by Kickboxing rules Floyd gets destroyed, so he would never agree to it.
If any kicking is allowed Mayweather will not stand a chance.
As he will not even see it coming as he has never had to defend against it.

Look at the kick about 2.43 never seen anything like that!
Yep apparently he was told he was to have a private 3 round bout for wealthy clients which upon arriving turned into a full blown contest with PPV which he is not up for so has politeness declined.
Shame
I didn’t realise that this actually went ahead today until I saw this flicking through the news...

Fight here (for now)...

Lmao what a joke. They threw the kid into the lions making it boxing only. Mayweather only threw 5 punches and knocked him down three times
Don't know what I just watched but it was laughable. Floyd looked out of shape, didn't really box that much, showed nothing of the blistering speed he normally has, yet still knocked him down easily. It does nothing to promote either boxing or MMA but just shows the gulf in difference between the two sports (not that one is better, just that both are miles apart from each other at the highest level).
Lol. Despite Mayweather only being 5'8" he looked like a heavyweight in comparison. The punch at around 14:30 was particularly on the money...
Well that was weird! Lots of $$ for next to no work for Mayweather.
still got it
The second knock down looked like a good clean punch.
It's just a matter of time...
That was a pathetic money making joke of a thing, apparently Mayweather made $9m for that.......

Yet another farce bringing boxing down further .Too much of good fighters avoiding each other , total mismatches and terrible judging decisions , all in the name of money

What a farce!! Why wasn’t it MMA as originally planned ?
I don't think it was fake, just a total mismatch.
The right hand uppercut for the second knockdown was a proper punch.
Put a significantly smaller and lighter muay thai fighter up against a world class boxer and only allow punching and it is not even a contest.
A good lesson for the Japanese lad, don't think you can take on a professional boxer at their own game.
I think his management were irresponsible endangering his well being in an event that was only going to end badly for him, he could have been killed.
Killed! Isn’t this lad a kick boxer or something, Would he not have taken a few knocks before?
I think it was most likely a farce to be honest, looked like mayweather turned the screws a bit harder than he should to me. It was banded as an exhibition match and sparring match.
The lad looked a bit shocked IMO. There’s certainly a couple of clonkers in there but one angle I saw close up mayweather throws a punch that barely touches his forehead and the lad flies back like he’s just been hit by a baseball bat.
Money talks and I wouldn’t mind betting a few quid that the lad was told what was going to happen.
I think this settles the burning question of what would happen if an ageing, but once World Class, boxer enters a boxing ring against a guy who’s much smaller, less experienced & not a boxer.
Who’d have thunk it, eh?
I’m quite sure Mayweather is laughing all the way to the bank, and who can blame him.
Complete joke. What a waste of ticket prices and talent.

Maywethers made more money since his so called retirement ain he
Fair play to him. Money machine. He’s never been seriously hurt as well during his career
No matter how much money he makes how long do you think it is until he declares bankruptcy? 10 years at best?
I read somewhere that after paying tax on his McGregor fight and then tax he already owed there wasn’t that much left.
Just heard that Mayweather is going to fight a kangaroo next.
I’d pay to see him fight Rodger...
Career earnings must be pushing $300 million
He doesn't want to fight a kangaroo, most of them are bouncers!
: I'll get my coat...
