Looks like another good job!
So, having previously helped out berty234 with his Dad’s old SKX, Nick got in touch about his Seiko. Seems something had gone wrong with the 7S26, the hands dislodged and the movement was behaving erratically.
These SKX’s are such a joy to work on, I was delighted to help out.
Nick kindly offered me his old timegrapher as a trade for the repair and in exchange we agreed to swap out the movement for an NH36.
So here goes....
Watch as it arrived:
Worn and loved - as a watch should be!
Back off:
And then movement and dial out and hands off:
Swap the day and day wheels over from the NH36 (which is a crown at 3 movement):
Swap the movement ring as well.
Now putting the hands back on making sure the date changeover starts about 11:30:
Rest of the hands back on:
And an NH36 in place in the case:
Ok, let’s get the new crown and stem cut to the correct size and assembled with loctite:
And grease the seals:
Exciting times - let’s try the timegrapher and get the movement honed:
That’s running very nicely indeed so off to Nick it goes!
Big thanks to Nick for the deal and trusting me with his Seiko, a very enjoyable mod!

Excellent work there. The SARB059 crown and stem is a straight swap when putting an NH36 into a SKX007/9. Don't know if same for the 13.
Good work, the SKX seems a solidly made watch
Only the day wheel needs to be swapped between the 7S26 and NH36 when upgrading, the date will line up. Makes for a much easier conversion.
Nice work, and that's a good trade...I need to find someone with an old timegrapher and a busted SKX...
