    Film: 1917

Looks like release date is Jan 2020

Anyone else really looking forward to this film?.....recently seen the how it was filmed in the trails just prior to seeing le mans 66.

Again I think this is something that has to be experienced on the big screen.

I just hope they keep it close to factual.

Yes I dont mind a bit of tinkering to make a story work but with subject matter like this it doesn't need to stray to far from reality.

I wasn't too sure at first having seen the trailer. However a 4* review (link) means it's on my list of films to see...at the cinema.

Absolutely, so far most WW1 films have been beyond awful and it's such a shame as the material is so deep, awful, thought provoking, moving call it what you will.

It's so difficult to get across to anyone who has never been to the battlefields and studied them just how costly the whole excercise was of finding out by trial & error how different mechanized warfare was to previous confilcts. I hope this new film can perhaps provide an insight.
