Good idea Eddie, maybe a silly question
but presumably this only applies to new orders? I bought off a member here a while ago and so the first 12 months of my guarantee would still be valid… correct?

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this?

Purchaser buys and flips it - so the first 12 months doesn't transfer to purchaser #2.......... but the 2nd 12 months does?

    I'm struggling with this one.

I think the idea is that it’s not going to be so easy to flip it for a profit if there’s no warranty covering it.

Profiteers are not going to buy it if they can’t sell it at an instant profit. If they choose to play the long game and keep them for twelve months before flipping then fair play to them.

I'm pretty sure the ebay listings will still say remainder of 24 month warranty valid.

If sellers are happy to operate as "profiteers", I'd be very surprised if there was any mention of small print warranty Ts&Cs.

If problem after 9 months, purchaser #2 waits 3 months and will be under warranty again.

    Unusual, to say the least.

Or seller and buyer agree that if there is a problem in the first 12 months the seller will get it sorted 'pretending' to still own it.

I'm sure that the s**thouse profiteers eBay sellers will be more than happy to act as go-between for their valued customers should any problems arise in the first 12 months.

He'd then be liable for sellers fees, which means he'd have to increase prices for the consumer to compensate..

Will you stop selling to that particular buyer or is there no way of doing that?

The gilt dial sells for well over RRP on ebay but I've not seen them go that high before. Looking at the recently completed sales its seems like £400-500 is more the range.

Edit: I see he has managed to sell at least 2 other gilts dials for very strong money. Seems like he is buying just to sell on and doing quite well out of it.

Either his entrepreneurship is to be admired or the watches are being sold too cheaply.

Christ alive. The fact that Eddie's watches are so difficult to get hold makes this particularly galling. Nothing to admire in the slightest.

That leaves the watches being sold too cheaply then. Unless you have a better idea? It's just capitalism doing what it does. Nobody has to have one of these watches, but they want one with a passion, and are happy to pay more. Someone is just serving that market. If only there were a way to sell them directly to the deserving.

Given how hard it is to buy TF watches these days, with watches going out of stock in under 60 seconds, people like this must be using bots to secure their eBay stock.

Is there a way to create hurdles for the bots, for example using a captcha during the checkout process ?

It won’t necessarily stop these people but at least everyone will have an equal chance at the Timefactors Checkout Challenge.

If the seller is known to Eddie, it doesn't need a captcha. The simple glitch will do.

Why not simply cancel his purchase and put the watch on eBay, with excess going to the fundraiser? Simple.

First bidder left a maximum bid of 720. Second bidder later bid 700. Ebay automatically ran the bid up to 720. Second bidder came back and bid 740. Not shill bidding just boys paying too much for toys.

I’m surprised the PRS-50 no rad hasn’t been snapped up by someone. Is it the fact that it needs a service putting people off?

MUJI was a Japanese brand selling minimalist unbranded products (including cheap watches). So I suppose, to the Japanese mind, anything minimalist and unbranded could be MUJI but I don't think this is accepted practice. The seller is just upvoting his sale. I wouldn't read anything into it.

It sold at £750. Asking price was reduced to £750 and then there was a single bid.

Nice watch but I was surprised it sold, even at £750. This was a Sewills Carmania white dial, btw.

    無 "without"
    印 "mark or symbol"

Pronounced "Muji". I suspect the advert was auto translated. It just means unbranded. We'd say "sterile dial".

(The Japanese shop uses the same characters)

900 euros and seems like this seller has changed out the clasp for one of the older models? As far as I’m aware all newer models have the push button clasp, correct?
