It’s a bit of fun for kids to get involved in

Did you not collect as a child?

    Always fun

I did and they were one of the best things ever. I loved taking my stack of swaps to school in an elastic band and doing deals. I never saw it as expensive but it clearly is. Odd isn’t it.

    Keep scrolling down.

P.S. Loved collecting these as a boy - and it didn't cost me a penny. My dad on the other hand ...

    Oh well rabbit hole entered

This could get expensive now. How complete do you suggest trying for before just sending off for the gap fillers? 70%?

I remember as a kid needing one sticker and buying a dozen packets to try to get it before I realized you could send for the missing one.

    ‘Foilies’ being the most desirable!

I remember we all collected and swapped these yet I didn’t even follow football and had no idea who the faces on the stickers were - but it was still so much fun. I do remember my parents finding the packs expensive, and getting bought one on a Saturday morning was a big treat! Of course, there were always friends who seemed to get bought 10 packs per week, but you cared less back then.

....and also the packet contained a strip of gum, to make the purchase more relishing

I've ordered a couple of albums for the Grandsons.

They are both footballers and love sticker collecting. Always nice to see the excitement on their faces when you buy them a few packs and they sort through them.

Back in my day it was collecting cards in Brooke Bond tea!
    Cheers,
    Neil.

We have maybe 40% filled but starting to get the doublers. Might be time to see if any are up to exchange on here.

Has anyone’s kids been collecting these?

My son has accumulated some doublers - if anyone wants to swap 24 for 24 if in same position give me a shout

Ah I remember collecting these as a boy. The local shop keeper used to get fed up with me as I used to feel all the packets before I chose which ones to buy. If they felt a little stiffer than the others they usually had a SHINY inside!!!

That reminds me of my student days when me and a friend won a quid on a Heinz baked beans completion. The winning tins, with prizes ranging from a free tin of beans to a tender, all had a barcode printed on the inside of the label. We realized you could just see the barcode through the label so we toured all the local supermarkets buying winning tins.

Ok we have 100 duplicates now - all different. Anyone in a similar position want to swap 100 for 100?
