I used to get my shoe trees from Leo33, Eppendorf off EBay. Looks like the site has closed, a google search indicates this might be the same place:

Looks like the prices have gone up! For normal shoes the cheaper ones are best (the bulkier ones are good for boots).
Edit: yes they are indeed the same ones.

Can anyone shed any light on what the fit is like on Loakes?
Just seen a pair of boots I liked but they didn’t have my size in them, nor did they have any other Loakes for me to try on. I’m normally a nine in most shoes, sometimes nine and half but I’ve found a pair online that are a ten. Will they be way out?
Cheers
Great, thanks Nadeem
Just realised the ones in the shop were either an 8 or 8.5 but didn’t bother trying them as I thought they’d be too small!! I is a idiot

I have a high instep and find that most lace ups gape at the laces. Are Loakes generous in that area?
I wear a pair of Highland Regiment brougue's. They come out to play once a year in November, so that they can be lifted 8 inches and driven in 12 on Horse Guards.
Bought 1st pair of brogues, Grenson Dylan. Lovely quality, had to go 1/2 size down though. Prior to wearing them yesterday paid the local cobbler a visit who recommended using clear cream which has turned them slightly darker which surprised me. He also suggested after a few wears to put a thin piece of rubber on the front sole part of the shoe. Also shoe trees, are they worth the investment
I have a pair of Church's brogues, brand new, box and never worn (except to try on in my house). I also have a "voucher" for a factory refurbishment when required (negotiated at purchase). Is there a 2nd hand market for such a thing?

Yup, need a nine
Just been back to try the boots on and just about managed to fit my fat hoof into an eight but there was no chance of taking a single step, tried eight and half and they were still a squeeze. Tried a pair of nine shoes and they were fine so hopefully the boots will be an equally good fit if I can find a pair online, the tens were absolutely massive and looked like clown shoes on me
Cheers for the advice, much appreciated
Can anyone recommend somewhere in Manchester/Northwest that can resole my Church's?
I really like the look of Grenson Archies (particularly the triple welt). Unfortunately, there are no stockists nearby. How do people find sizing of Grensons - do they wear big or small?
Bought my 1st brogues, Grenson Dylan Oxfords, normally size 10 but down sized to 9 1/2. Great comfy and well pleased so much so now looking for a black pair for dress trousers
I have a quick question for Loake owners, so thought I'd resurect this thread..
I have just received my first pair of Loake's (Seaham's bought online direct from Loake) and I was suprised that they did not come with dust bags. Is this normal as when I've bought 'decent' shoes before they have always included dust bags and usually polish and spare laces... these just came with a cheapo shoe horn and a microfibre cloth
I just wanted to check before I email Loake.
Thanks,
Does anybody have any experience in comparing Crockett and Jones and Cheaney shoes regarding width fittings?
Cheaney have a sale on at the moment and mulling over what size width fitting to order.
I might try to drop in to the Cheany Factory outlet to try some on, but wondered if anybody had an opinion..
Has anyone a pair of Allen Edmonds? How do they rate against Northampton's finest?
I'm going to be in NYC in a few weeks and am contemplating picking up a pair.
Shoemaker range come with a polishing cloth, 1880’s come with spare laces & dust bags, Export grade come with spare laces, shoe horn, dust bag & shoe trees.
Hope this helps.

I have a pair of these in walnut: https://global.allenedmonds.com/shoe...button&start=1
Bought them whilst I was living in the Staes in 2012. Still going strong. The have a lovely cork insole. The fit is a bit narrower than loakes and a lot narrow than Barker.
I always wait for the Cheaney sale, there is one on at the moment shortly closing. Money bit tight so have to keep it to the 2 pairs I have.

If you're a 7.5 and fancy a pair of Loake Chesters these are a bargain at £117.50.
