Yes, don't tell Doxa - they charge extra for the Time-Machine option.
Morning all.
Well, here's an odd one. The battery in my DOXA Aquaman recently expired, so I sourced an identical replacement battery (ref. 370), took the back off and popped a new one in.
Turn it over and it's merrily ticking away as expected.
Except... it's going BACKWARDS!
Any thoughts?

Sounds like a damaged or bent stator plate.

Hi Steve. Thanks for the response. Googling what you said suggests that you're absolutely right and that means I assume that it'll need to be repaired. Rats. I assume I've damaged it either taking out the old battery or putting the new one in.
OK troops - next question then...
Anyone know someone who could sort it for me?
Simon
I had one of these in yellow, nice retro style, sorry that doesn't help.

The Doxa Aquaman, albeit a swiss and good looking watch, uses a cheap Ronda quartz movement which costs about 15-20 GBP if memory serves me right.
Movement is Ronda 705. I had one and I was disappointed by it. (barely wore it and something inside broke so the whole thing had to be replaced)
Cousins has the movement for example but you have to be careful what height you order as there are a few versions of this movement.
Even better, take it to a watchmaker. The job itself is simple. Even cheaper and easier would be to replace the broken part. The movement is simple and serviceable but some prefer not to bother and just replace it.
That's a helpful response - thank you.
On the basis that I've been ham-fisted enough to break it in the first place I'd prefer someone who knows what they're doing to drop a new 705 into it. I've checked on Cousins website and they're less than a tenner to buy!
Anybody on the forum who could help?
Simon

You didn't order it from Australia did you!?
Simon, can recommend richie_101 he has a website too but can’t recall its name!
There’s a few other hobbyists here maybe will chip in.
Perhaps the battery is in upside down?

Have you tried taking it to a watchmaker that can just inspect it ? Maybe the problem is much simpler...
Did you force the movement somehow ? The movement is fragile, yes but while replacing a battery it shouldn't be that much of a problem... (normally)
PS: It has the golden variant movement which is supposedly better (can't remember why or how) than the cheaper steel one or whatever it's made of. But both will fit provided that you get the one with the correct height (for the hands) as I mentioned in my other post.
