Thread: Ford Mustang GT 2018

    Ford Mustang GT 2018

    Hi,

After drooling over Enoch's Mustang I've taken out the latest model for a test and loved it. 6 month wait though for a new one.
I'm a bit stuck on colours. The orange in the flesh is lovely but I do wonder if it will get a bit wearing over time. I also worry about colour matching. It's a tri-coat and looks like it could be a mare should I need a repair.
The other colours are a bit so so. I like the white and red but can't find one to see in the flesh
    I would welcome any advices

    Thanks

I love the orange fury, really think the loud colours suit these cars (I’ve a 2017 triple yellow) I think the orange is exclusive to the 2018 so it’s worth getting.

I’ve become a bit of a mod addict with mine, if you’re on Facebook look for simply mustangs uk, a great group with regular meets.

    Red, orange or yellow 👍
    White 👎

But that is my preference - really not a fan of white cars

    Ford Mustang GT 2018

Saw a red one outside a hotel in Cornwall last week. Very eye catching, more so as I didn’t know what it was at first. So impressed that I looked it up. Not for me, but a really impressive car and looks good in red

It would be the Magnetic or Shadow Black for me. I don't mind the ASBO-Orange but like you I think I'd get sick of it pretty quickly.

I saw the orange today at the ford dealership for the first time.

My first impression was that it was a little washed out and faded - not quite asbo orange enough.

Red or Yellow for me, black stripes essential.

I saw two yellow ones (in the same car park!) yesterday and they looked stunning
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Thanks guys, unfortunately the yellow is no longer an option

The yellow would be my choice, but faced with the others - I would get white, and get fitted - blue Shelby-type decals for bonnet, roof and boot .....

From the 2018 version, either of the blues look good to me, but I personally would wait for the 2019 car to get the 'need for green', which is very different but a decent solid colour, sorry 'color' (cough).

    Oh and stripes, yes stripes...

The orange is loud and the white’s a bit meh but the red looks wow. I can see the appeal of a limited edition colour, but if it were me I’d dial it back a bit.

If it were your only car, ask yourself what you’d like to rock up in to your daughter’s wedding. Or any other occasion, the golf club, a smart country hotel. It’s a fact of life that we get associated with everyone else who’s ever got out of the particular car your driving. The car and colour say something out you, even if subconsciously. What first impression do you want to make? The glib answer to which is, of course, that you don’t care what others think about you, which probably is the right answer.

Out of the new colour pallet, I’d choose Kona Blue....black roof and then go with some silver stripes...

White with blue stripes, or blue with white.

That’s what I’ve been toying with previously.

Although with the new increase in price, I’m back looking at F10 M5s again & getting a pre owned one.

Funny timing, never noticed these much before but was passing the garage and found myself drawn enough to this to stop and take photos to convince myself i needed this.

Orange or yellow with black stripes for me. Been considering the new one as a fun car, looms superb, goes well, sounds great and doesn’t cost the earth.

You see all types in Porsches, young, old, male, female, etc, etc.

Don't think i've seen a woman, or person under 50 driving a mustang yet.

You probably need to get out more and broaden your horizons

I went to the Ford Fair at Silverstone last year and saw a number of youngsters male and female driving Mustangs..

In fact I parked next to a very nice young lady at Ellesmere a few weeks back, she was driving a dark blue convertible V8.. apparantly, she’d traded in a rather boring Volvo for it.... or so she told me..

One of our forum stalwarts on the Mustang 6g forum is 23, he was 21 when he bought his car, and traded a 1.0 corsa..

100’s of members are well under 50....sadly I’m not one of them... I’m heading towards the end of my mid life crisis at 56..👍

Ah, that’s taken me back... I spent several years in a row at ford fair with my Cossie gang. The days before speed cameras and dash cams where you could hoon up there on a convoy of 10 whale tails, seeing who could get there the quickest. Oh the 80’s!

I’m off to Shelesley Walsh breakfast club.... But when I went to Ford fair the Police were being very heavy handed, I’m all for them policing the surrounding area, and clamping down on silly behaviour, but they were right outside the circuit, hammering folk for reving engines etc...

Seemed to me they were using it as an opportunity to hammer young drivers, and gain as much revenue as possible, so I’m not going again...

Shelesley is a much more civilised affair and a lovely drive for me especially at my age😜😜

Hired a full fat one when in the States last year - great sound, after that you have said it all IMHO.

No issues with fans, great cars in their own right, but there are lots of others.

Some elements of the RS Owners Club have spoilt the Ford name at most Ford related events.

I have just bought a triple white one . black wheels shadow line .
The car gets lots of attention in a good way .
I think a loud color might be overkill but then I am way past mid life crisis.
They are a big car with lots of space and they fly ,seriously quick.
I think a short test drive will sell them short ,they take a little learning .
I am delighted with mine and after 1200 miles 22mpg.

I'm partial to the 50th Anniversary Mustang "Bullitt." For 2019: 475bhp, 19" wheels, Brembo brakes, +++.

My dealer asked if I’d like to go on the order list for one, but as it’s manual only I declined...🤔
