    Pretty pleased with this

So, I picked a good day to work from home today as the courier turned up with this ... apologies for the crappy photos, it's night time and the light is terrible:

    Nice selection of straps:

    ooh Pastel:

So, initial thoughts. Couldn't be happier, I very rarely get excited about a watch straight out of the box, I'm usually a bit meh and then warm to them, this one however, is pretty much perfect.

I love the colour, I've not seen any other watches with this shade of blue. The colour matched date wheel is a small detail that makes a huge difference, it's such an elegant way to blend the date into the dial, i always prefer the date at 6 too.

The saphire bezel gives contrast to the dial and ties in with the markers, I've got another seaforth with the metal bezel so if i'm feeling brave I could swap them but I'm happy with this combination for now.

The strap selection is fantastic too, there's 5 in all, I've got it on the rubber right now as it means I can wear it in the water.

The size is perfect, 40mm is the sweet spot for me.

Accuracy, only been on the wrist for 7 or 8 hours but it's +-0 so far.

So the next question is, I've got a 3 week mountain bike tour of NZ starting next week, i'm thinking I 'll take it with me, after all watches are for wearing ... but it looks so good it would be a shame to get it mashed on some rocks or something :)

Nice. I've been looking for the pastel blue Halios for some time but they seem to attract quite a price premium. It looks like it is unmarked so it would be a shame to get it damaged out on the bike. I'd be happy to look after it for the three weeks that you are away

You got one! Congrats, you’re one of the lucky ones.

Looks great. How does it wear? Large? Small? Do you have any side profile shots you’d mind sharing to get a feel for the thickness of the case on wrist?

Beautiful, what a shade of blue on it, it must be the nicest colour out of the range

Lovely. Did you order direct or via forasec?

If the OP hadn't spent all that money on a watch, he could have bought a cheap car, and thus wouldn't have to use his bike for the forthcoming trip

Nice! But you know what will happen if you take it on the bike trip for 3 weeks....

Eagle eyes! Quite right, no rivets.

I also find it hard to believe all the indices would come off whilst all three hands would stay in place with just a few scratches!

Yes I was lucky with this one, it's a very slim watch, especially for a diver and the lugs taper which makes the fit even better (for me anyway). A few profile shots:

I know ... I should take my plastic Casio, after all it has an alarm which will be useful when camping and getting up and out for 7am ... but I still want to take this :) The trip is cycling the whole country from top to bottom in 21 days, I don't need to take a decent watch but I like having experiences associated with my watches, I know what watch I was wearing when I first held my son, various Kayaking trips and other adventures I've been on etc and if it picks up a few dings that's ok, as long as I don't totally smash it.

yep, they're in high demand but I'm hanging on to this one. Jason is awesome to deal with too, I know he copped some flack over the release of these but I've got nothing but praise for him from the dealings I've had.

Thanks all. I have 6.75 inch wrists.

Quick accuracy check, it's running at +2 per day, gotta be happy with that :) the eta is so much nicer than the miyota in the old one.

Pre-orders open for the series 3 Seaforth tomorrow (Thursday March 8th) - I quite fancy the orange-dialled option...
