Do Rolex normally increase the cost of servicing at the same time as price increases on watches?

    Rolex price increase

You really think they waited until after the election result to decide to increase prices? This was probably decided straight after the last price increase in my opinion

Edit, the pounds sunk back down now anyway.

Forgive me, but it is when the GBP declines significantly against the Swiss Franc that you should expect a price rise in the UK, all else being equal.

No, but Rolex came out with a change in spare parts prices back on November 1st. Some parts like movement bridges nearly tripled, while other things got cheaper, like the ceramic BLRO insert. Generally a raise in prices though.

The price rise from January 2nd is confirmed and seems to be a worldwide thing from what i hear.

Indeed, it was confirmed three days and six hours ago on this very forum, for those able to see it.

Prices for anything will always continue to rise as materials, labor and even future research to build better products continue because someone has to pay for it. Rolex will continue to keep it's price in the unobtanium atmosphere as long as there are plenty willing to buy them and Rolex doesn't want to lose their market status either. When they reach the peak then they will slow until everyone catches up.

Rolex monitors all markets to try and keep things level, apparently a big rise in China coming because of the Yuan, meaning the Chinese will go even more bananas for foreign tax free luxury.... If its in 100% of markets only Rolex knows at the moment, perhaps someone will do a poll...

This is fascinating. Check out the price increases of no-date subs, from $3800 in 2006 to $6300 in 2018!

In 2006 the average exchange rate was 1.25 CHF to USD. In 2018 it was 0.98.

    3800 × 1.25 = 4750
    6300 × 0.98 = 6174

The change from 4750 to 6174 over the 12 years equates to annual increases of about 2.25%

If the 7% increase is indeed correct, then we should count ourselves lucky. Rolex could increase prices by 17% and they would still sell.

They only have to look at the usual sites and see what the premiums are and listen to the demand in the dealers and know whatever % they put on the customers will still come in. Hulk or GMT for £10k? There will be people glad to pay it if they see a new one in WoS window.

They could sell anything...if they brought out a new model called the Rolex Manure Spreader it would be guaranteed to be a shit hot hit.

What makes you say that - the things are selling quite well way over RRP.

Current list +17% is still less than the trade would pay for various models, so I would imagine they would sell.

“Rolex Manure Spreader”, I was wondering what the nickname of the two tone Sea Dweller was. Thanks for that😁

Someone on TRF just picked up a new Rolex from an AD in the US, and was told he was just ahead of the price rise on 1st Jan. So, at least UK and US. [9250 to 9800]

WoS group won’t have any deliveries until Jan (after the increase) now. Few more days until we (or at least some of us) see what the new prices are like.

Was in my local AD today and they brought up the imminent price increase almost as a ‘buy it now or the price will go up’ sales tactic.

Pity they didn’t have anything new in stock that caught my eye though a pre-owned one peaked my interest and will give it some thought.
