Crackerjack popcorn probably early 1970s I think. I am not sure whether it was sold in every part of the UK but we definitely got it in the North East. Then it disappeared back off to America

    Texans were definitely a favourite.

I remember buying bags of chewing nuts, which were basically really hard toffee covered in inferior quality chocolate but for some reason were strangely alluring.

    Nice thread

    Fruit salads
black Jacks ( not sure you would get away with it now)
    Revels
    Dolly Mixtures
    Pez (cherry)

All washed down with Corona cherryade, Panda Cola or a Tab.

does anyone remember gets a packet of "Bits" from the Chippy on a Friday - 5p and about a billion calories.

Surprised nobody has mentioned gobstoppers, the big variety about 1" diameter that changed colour as you worked your way through the layers, they had a tiny black 'pip' in the centre.

Proper Midget Gems, Poor Bens, Licquorice Tablets, Butterscoth Tablets and Fruit Salad made by Lion in Cleckheaton, not the poor substitute now available.
