Recently tried a PRS-18q on rubber, which I quite like.

Very nice - I had the 8500, but found it a little too thick - it wore well on the Omega rubber though. I do prefer all the SMP300's on the bracelet though, they just seem to work really well - and I have the same Ceramic bond as you. I do have my spare speedmaster style bracelet for the bond though, and will be trying it out in a few weeks time :)
It's just a matter of time...

The titanium bracelet is nice - but the Diver Pro III is nicer!

Where is the best place to source the Bonetti straps please folks?. I just had a look on their website but it doesn't seem to have a shop section.

You are right there, that looks much nicer than the bracelet and I bet it's more comfortable.

I have been hoping to be able to try my 2254 on the rubber but sadly the strap seems to be currently lost in the post :(

I bought the Bonetto Cinturini through Amazon, but it was supplied by global watch band...

Best prices I've found are from Market straps.

Most of the Casio ProTrek watches - but that's not too surprising given their construction. Of course, some people love them on NATOs (I think there's a thread somewhere, though it may have been on the watchuseek forum), but that doesn't work for my taste!

Out of habit, I always look to buy my watches on bracelet if possible....but the UN version with grey dial I wanted proved too tempting. IMHO it looks better on the matt rubber, iirc the steel bracelet features polished links which have been known to blind airline pilots.....

Yes, it does have superfluous titanium links....

Any Seiko and Citizen diver and most of the Breitlings. Everything else looks worse on rubber, IMHO.

    Thanks Marc.

I wasn't sure I'd like it as I always preferred bracelets and was ready to flip it.

Until it arrived and I tried it!

    Time for some real quality!

Got this a couple of years ago for £12 and forgot about it till a month or so ago. I just liked the colour. Bargain holiday watch I guess. The rubber strap is actually super soft, very flexible and really comfy! I wouldn't like to take it much over 50mm deep in water never mind actually dive in it! The strap has to £12 worth?

    Cheap and cheerful :)

I do like the simplicity of a rubber strap. I bought a cheapo for my Vostok, but having skinny wrists I struggle to cope with the spare strap and cuffs.
I guess it's time to start saving for a Sub and a Rubber B. That way I can keep my GMT on steel ;)
    Great pics folks.

Well tomorrow my longines hydroconquest arrives I already think I'll order the rubber strap off the chrono they do. Should look decent :-)

Admittedly, I am not fond of modern doxa bracelets compared to old, but I like the rubber to break up the shininess.

I had a Breitling Superocean professional that was on a bracelet, far too heavy just wished I'd tried it on rubber before I'd sold it as I would probably of kept it.I agree with the comment that a rubber does appear to reduce some of the weight of the watch head, which is no bad thing for me.
Anyone looking for a Nato rubber take a look at the Bonetto Cinturini as they're quite thin, very stretchy but super comfortable.
Can anyone tell me which model this is with the gold outlining ?

May be it is a good idea to have one DSSD on bracelet and one on rubber. Because I do love the bracelet, taper and all.

    Almost all dive watches.

I have never really understood dive watches on metal bracelets - they are too rigid and complicated to adjust for wearing over wetsuits etc, therefore not fit for purpose.

    Rubber all the way.

Having tried all kinds of straps including an ISOfrane and an Omegafrane, I came to realise it is best on the original bracelet. Not a matter of looks but comfort.
