Sitting in a bar in northern France drinking Chimmy Bleu.
For anyone that is on a Gluten Free diet (like me) I can thoroughly recommend this. Made a nice change from either cider or gf Peroni / San Miguel / Estrella
Bit early for me but it is Christmas market holiday time, Thornbridge Peveral session IPA in the Market Cat York .

A toast craft lager - with the small % going to a good cause I class it as charity...
Ok I’ll agree “ it’s not too early “ , York Christmas markets, Pivni World Beer Freehouse, The Shambles, large Chiraz for my good lady, local brew (Cropton) Yorkshire Blackout for me. A delicious chocolate & vanilla stout, slips down real easily.

Still here, Yorkshire blackout no3, followed by Black Fire coffee liqueur, could get messy

Only got Bud for tonight! Could murder an IPA.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Off to my local micropub this evening. Will be drinking this:
The exciting bit is that I brewed it (with some friends). First one we've had on. I'm the lix of Marlix.
Up the Toon for a mooch about. Post mooch to the Bridge Hotel, amateur time with Christmas approaching so a quicky then away . . .
Down to the Dog Leap to the Bridge Tavern, more amateurs, so another quicky, no chance of a pic so pinched one . . .
Checked my train times, 3.15?cancelled, thanks you w*****s, so to the Crown . . .
At least my enforced time in the Crown is to a background of Georgie Fame on vinyl, mmmm...niiiice....

The Crown Posada isn't such a bad spot to kill time . . .

What a mad week, don't think I sat in my office chair for more than 5 minutes.
Having a couple of swift Hens after work.

It’s a lively one!
Had to take it outside as it was about to explode
Tasty though!
Enjoyed a Guinness milk stout tonight. I didnt know they did one but saw it in Waitrose. Quite nice and a very reasonable £1.65 a bottle (500ml).
I don’t normally drink on a school night but it would be a shame to waste it
The garage is keeping it at the perfect temperature.

No photo (forgot as we were chatting), but tried a few pints of 'INK' nitro stout by Camden Town Brewery while at the Pint Shop in Cambridge.
Very nice, but it was a shade too lively to be poured properly. I know it is intended to have a decent head, but having a 1/4 pint of head was a bit of a p1$$ take at £5.70 per pint.
In Krakow and Łódź this week with work, so naturally sampling some local wares is a must. The Polish craftbeer scene appears to be flying. “House of Beer” was our first stop, which had a pretty sizeable menu. Choose from the wall or take suggestions from the barman...
Or choose something from their 12 keg lines...
After a couple of halves on draft I switched to a bottle. Really nice New Zealand-hopped session IPA...
Then in Łódź last night I tried these two, the first a fruity Saison and the second a very hoppy double-dry hopped double IPA...
And tonight the hotel has all this lot to choose from...
I went for the American Pale Ale (APA). Smooth, fruity and mildly hopped.
Cheers
I used to go to Cambridge quite a bit when I supported one of our offices at the Science Park. The Pint Shop was a favourite place (that and the fabulous pub The Eagle) but drinking in Cambridge sure made a big dent in my expenses.

The 4 Hatherwood bottled ales that Lidl sell are reduced at the moment, down from £1.19 to £1.09.

Christmas supplies are in:
The Sussex is my favourite although the Red export is a cracking pint too. Not a stout fan but thought I'd give theirs a try and the Classic Old is their equivalent of a Porter.
The hard part will be saving them for Christmas, especially as the in laws are over on Sunday and I'll need some fortification.

Sad news. I made my bi-annual trip to The Black Sheep Brewery at Masham to get a few trays of their fabulous Yorkshire Square bitter. I was saddened to learn that they have stopped brewing it, due to lack of demand from the supermarkets. However a friendly chap at the bar said that they brew a beer for Sainsbury's, in their 'Taste the Difference' range, that is for all intents and purposes the same beer. I've bought a few and will report back (probably tonight ).

Only Bud in stock tonight!
However went for a posh (!) pub lunch in a local village yesterday with some friends and they had Camden Pale Ale on draught which was very drinkable........very.......I wasn't driving...
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Update on Sainsbury's Taste the Difference bitter. Whilst it was tasty crisp pint, it didn't have the body or depth of Yorkshire Square and at £1.80 a bottle there are better and cheaper alternatives.

^^ Love your style Magirus, I always enjoy hearing about your sneaky couple at the local. You seem spolit for choice.
I recently discovered this lovely lager, it is unique in a good way with a nice malt flavour.
