    Onlywatch 2019

    Is anyone interested in the one offs made for onlywatch each year?

    The 2019 collection has been released today and the full line up can be viewed at www.onlywatch.com

    A couple of my personal favourites are the Audemars Piguet code 1159 tourbillon;

    And Carl.F.Bucherer dive watch;

    No doubt the Tudor black bay ceramic will get the most attention;

    I am a fan of the black on black just don’t like the strap.

    Just the Breguet and the Zenith for me.
    In fact, the Breguet will do.

    AP must be struggling if they out forward a variation of the code 11.59

    The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Perpetual Moon Vanta Black Only Watch is outstanding

    Followed by the MB&F x l’Epée T-Rex Only Watch screams Sci-FI

    The Blancpain being 4mm annoys me as it makes you wish they bring they bring it into normal production.

    I do like the blue accents on the blancpain. I'm looking forward to seeing the second collaboration between Debethune and Urwerk, especially after Urwerks collaboration with Laurent Ferrier last year.

    At auction as expected some of these unique pieces from the usual suspects go for silly money but in previous years I've been surprised at what others have gone for, not even reaching the low estimate. I find that surprising for any of the watches listed given they are all one offs for the event.

    For goodness sake Blancpain - this is literally my type of watch!!!

    But as said the winner is Breguet. And since no one has added a pic -

    And a very, very close second is this Journe - superb design and so legible despite all the complications

    This Onyx dialled Czapek is also fantastic -

    Those are all very special watches. I vote for the Journe, it’s beautiful!

    Thats the one I meant, Urwerk collaborated with Laurent Ferrier last year and I thought the end result was stunning.

    BP for me too please - oh and the PP, who could resist a PP with "The only one" on the dial 🤔

    The last one with Laurent Ferrier looked mad cool in the sketch but the final product was a bit meh. Let's see.

    I think the DB’s own style is more compatible with Urwerk than LF’s.
    I expect it to look much nicer.

    If only the BP was 43mm, it would be ideal - love the blue.

    We would have something rather special if so. Fingers crossed!

    Well the most expensive watch has just been sold. Hammered at CHF 31 mil with a total including buyer premium of CHF 35.46

    Take a guess which watch....

    Also to note some of the other hammer - over 300 for the Urwerk, over 200 for the Hermes and other mental numbers....

    Just seen the results. In stainless steel as well!! The Urwerk seems a bargain by comparison. I was suprissed to see the FP Journe go for 1.8 millions CHF

    It was because it was SS that it sold for so much! The Journe was on prediction actually.

    The Urwerk I agree was a bit low, but same with the RM and a few others. The AP Code hammered at 1 mil CHF which was extremely high! Same goes for the Tudor ceramic bay at something like 350k.

    Strong numbers overall...

    All proceeds go to a children’s charity which is a great cause - obviously the big spenders are happy to pay well over bearing this in mind...,
    -the Patek sure smashed the Newman Daytona out the park...

    If one has put aside a certain amount of money for charitable giving, it makes sense to bid freely on things like this, giving yourself a chance of getting something for your money. I've just been looking up the hammer prices for a couple of the other interesting watches. Again, miles above the estimate. The Chaykin Selfie Joker was 70,000, over three times its estimate, and the Akrivia was 360,000, about ten times.

    ^^^Both hammered, then enamelled
