I'm a Jeans (Levi 515) type of guy but.................

I have been wearing cargo shorts for the last few days as the weather has got a lot better and I really do enjoy the freedom, lack of weight and the air to the nether regions :)

Some air around the bag area is always welcome. Sometimes I wear swimming shorts but I completely cut out the net bag holder lining inside. Go commando for max bag air.

I used to think that shorts were for kids only and looked terrible on any grown man.

Now I don't give AF that I look like an overgrown child. They're comfy, useful (in cargo variant) and freeing. A good choice OP!

These days putting on a pair of jeans feels like putting on a suit. Chino shorts, gym shorts, or tracksuit bottoms only.

Always important to pair the Chino shorts with some merino wool boxers. Makes a world of difference.

I have lived in shorts since lock down started.
I wore a shirt and trousers for the first time in months yesterday and I could not wait to take them off when I got home.
Did the same this morning, smart casual for a sparrows fart meeting, straight home - t shirt and shorts on.
Socks are a killer as well. I now hate wearing them.
Shorts combined with 1950s demob special type boxers is luxury.

Big fan of the EMS cargo trews with the zip off leg, converting them to cargo shorts...it's hot here and I find these about the lightest weight, most comfortable fit, plenty of pockets too...most of the 'fashionable' trousers/ shorts are too slim cut for me, not having pipe stem legs. Swim/ board shorts for when I'm not dressing smart, most of the time.

My legs never get cold for some reason. Better wet legs than wet jeans.

Due to my spindly legs (could put many a supermodel to shame), I tend not to wear shorts when out and about - freaks my missus and 2 daughters out that their husband/dad has better legs than them!

    Same here.

I will never wear shorts but ive been loafing about in linen trousers and flip flops.
Now socks and closed shoes feel completely alien.

Dreading the return to the office, shorts & t shirt / hoody the whole time, oh and slippers. The idea of wearing my Barker shoes fills me with fear, they will feel awful I’m sure.

Plus side, office is moving to Paddington so takes 30mins of tube away, and office is 1/4 of the size, so will be at home 3 days a week now.

I wear shorts when its warm weather but I feel the cold as I’ve got older so most of the time I wear jeans or lightweight walking trousers/ cargos.

Until recently I would never go out at night in the UK wearing shorts but that’s now changed, my Thursday night routine ( weather permitting) is a 5.6 mile brisk walk/jog to meet up with a drinking buddy in a town centre pub, wearing shorts and trainers. Not a look I would’ve favoured in the past but I’ve reached the ‘couldn’t care less’ stage of life. Hot weather at 5:30 was a bit brutal last night but I certainly enjoyed the beer!

Back in the 70s when I ran seriously the Ron Hill freedom shorts were the attire of choice for runners, they look a bit like a nappy but certainly allowed the fresh air to reach the warm regions of the body!

I'll be sitting in a field for five hours tomorrow morning while the wife does her boot sale , so it will be shorts, slides, Hawaiian shirt and a ball cap.
    Cheers,

I can appreciate the need for ventilation, but a cap? Don't the shorts provide enough shade?

I saw someone wearing them yesterday - fine in their time but not a good look nowadays!

If I didn't have to work I would never wear socks. Flip flops unless snow on the ground, then furry lined crocs.
    Fashionable I am not.

Hiking shorts and those fitness t shirts these days means no ironing. No exercise either but mega comfy
When our office reopens I fully expect everyone to push the dress code standard downward by a few notches

I had an interview via Teams recently and put on a shirt and tie. I was almost choking. I could not wait to get changed into a T-shirt and cargo trousers.

Where did you get that picture of me?

I used to sport a 'tache in past and my wife asked me recently to grow one again, possibly to rekindle a romantic past.

When I grew it she was very disappointed as it came through rather salt and peppery, so off it came.

    The past is another country.

Cargo shorts from April onwards, so much easier for dog walking with pockets stuffed with tennis ball, lead, poo bags, keys and phone.
