Unless you can educate yourself in all the specifics, I'd just go to a reputable dealer who has done their due diligence.
A minefield it is!
So I'm still interested in a Spaceview Accutron but I have seen articles about how there are more in circulation than were every produced.
I've read abut chapter rings and the like, but how do I know if what I'm looking at is the real deal?

Take a look at the electric Watches website or indeed ask Paul for some tips.

Have a look at the offers from well-known Accutron ebay seller anticvarius. He has this one at the mo' which looks kosher to me

Thanks everyone, there are some for £200 and some for £1200, like you said, it's a minefield!
Accutronitis is the self acknowledged world authority on these.

Evidently the watch I linked to has been sold - so now Ebay's software, as a useful aid to potential purchasers, automatically links to a similar product. Not a similar watch from the same seller, not another Accutron, not even another Bulova but a Casio which couldn't be further in any way from the original item. And people are worried about AI.
If someone uses original parts to do a conversion, I don’t think there is any way to tell.
Cheers..
